Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive

We arrived at the Tamarijn early on Saturday the 20th and were able to get right into our room. We spent much of the day on the gorgeous beach just outside our room. And although we spent many days and nights swimming, soaking up the sun, and enjoying Ronny's wonderful drinks at the bar, we also did venture out for a couple of adventures. We booked a Jeep Tour with De Palm tours which took us off road through the northern part of the island. We got to see such attractions as the California Lighthouse, Natural Bridge, Rock formations, and the old gold mining facility. It was a 4 hour tour, my husband got to drive the jeep the entire time and our tour guide, Juan, was so friendly and knowledgeable. We also booked a 4 hour snorkeling adventure on a catamaran. This tour took us to two shallow snorkeling locations and one deep water ship wreck location. This catamaran also provided an open bar and lunch. We were able to walk all around the catamaran and swim, snorkel, drink, and eat pretty much all day. The staff was incredibly friendly. The hotel has three a la carte restaurants plus the buffet and snack bar. We did not have any problems making reservations for these restaurants and the meals were pretty good as well. Although it was really neat to cook our own meal at the Palm Grill, we found the Ginger Asian restaurant to be our favorite. We only ate at the buffet once for breakfast and found it to be pretty good as well. There were many options and a cook to order egg service. The snack bar was very convenient and a good choice if you just wanted a quick bite to eat. The bar with the snack bar (Pizza per Tutti) was very good, but we found that Coconuts, on the other side of the pool, made better and stronger drinks. The low rise hotel is a series of buildings no more than two floors high located directly on the beach. Every room has an ocean view and every balcony opens up to the beautiful tropical water. The hotel is also equipped with shops for souveniers, cigars, and a general store for any item you may have forgotten to pack. There is also an internet cafe however, there is WIFI throughout the hotel which is free. The hotel cafe is not free. Compared to a previous trip we took to the Bahamas, this one was so much more rewarding and much better. The one thing we will say is that the air conditioner in our room was really loud, as if the fan was beginning to go. Also, keep in mind the taxi rides are fixed prices so you won't see meters running in the cars. We paid $22 for our trip from the airport to the Tamarijn and again from the Tamarijn to the airport. Don't forget to give yourself about 3 hours at the airport to get through imigration, security, customs, etc. When the airport is crowded, it really could take that long to go through those motions. The one thing we wished we could have done more was spend our entire last day out in the sun, but we were sunburned already and didn't want it to get any worse. Overall it was a great vacation. Aruba is a beautiful island, with friendly people. This is one happy island for sure:)

Everything was great. The location was AMAZING. You literally walk onto the beach from your patio in your room. Was not overly crowded, and the food was good. The staff was very laid-back, which caused some drama among the big city Americans and their GO, GO, GO way of life. I am from Chicago, a large city, but realized that I am on vacation, and its nice to not be on the go all the time. I really didn't have any issues with the service. The pools are beautiful and the night entertainment was good as well.

It was relaxing & the beaches had white sand and clear blue water - just like a brochure! However, I think if I went again I'd want a room closer to the main area of the resort near the bars. The whole time we were there, we thought we were booked at the Tamarijn but when we checked out, they told us we were in the Divi Dutch Village. That could explain why we felt like we were so far away from everything! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were in #93-just outside our back deck was a nice hot tub & the pool was just outside the front door. However, no bars were in the area. Also on that end of the resort it is a walk to the nearest beach bar which closed at 7pm anyway. This also meant a walk to breakfast/lunch/dinner-I felt like I spent a good amount of time walking to and from the beach, the bar and restaurant every day which took away from my relaxing time. We did manage to get a seat at the main pool which has the beach/pool/bar all there but tons of kids. We went to the Divi All Inclusive Resort next door & it seemed more adult friendly-would pick that place if I went back. The upside-we had fun & it was relaxing in spite of the walking-just wish the all inclusive stuff was more spread out on the resort so you don't have to walk so much. By the way-they had little golf carts you could jump on to get around but of course they were not around often enough....[...] & [...] @ the main bar make one hell of a drink-Thank you my friends!Also-helpful hint-if you want to eat @ one of the restaurants, make reservations the day you get there-they book up fast. Red Parrot Restaurant was good eats. We booked two activities...Snorkel Tour was Awesome! De Palm Jeep Adventure was an off-off road adventure. Should be advertised for those who are into extreme sports. Written description in front desk brochure does not do the true experience justice. I was scared and came back with bruises from holding on during the ride. Wouldn't do that again!

All restaurants at resort very good

This was our third trip to Aruba and we always stay at the Tamarijn. This all inclusive site caters to a wide range of needs for relaxation. We are more of the laid back vacationers, and this resort fits us perfectfully. The food is pretty good, with a decent (5) number of resturants on site to choose from. Our favorite is the Italian resturant, The Paparotzzi. The staff is also very good, the maid service is quick; our room was remade by noon every day. We especially love the fact that all the rooms are literally beachfront!! From our door to the beach is less than 40 yards!!

My wife and I stayed at the Tamarijn all inclusive for our honeymoon. It was in a very nice location, our room was no more than 10 feet from the beach! Also, the meals were very good for an all inclusive, and we got unlimited mixed drinks! The only bad things about the trip, not in the resort's control, was the amount of mosquitos and the fact that it rained for half the week.

Fantastic island! People are very friendly, NO, I repest NO TIMESHARE people bothering you around every corner! A great place to go if you just want to relax OR you can be as busy as the next guy. Sites were beautiful, food and drink were good, nights with the ocean breezes relaxing. Will be going back!!!

The room was clean, the staff was pleasant, the grounds were well cared for .. the property could use some updating..The Divi property next door had the best resaurants and the property was more appealing..we would stay at the Divi beach next time probably..The rooms were nicer..more updated

The resort's workers were all very nice and helpful. We were able to use the facilties at both the Tamarijn and the Divi. They provided shuttle service between the two resorts and the casino. We participated in some activities at the pool, Bingo, Tie-Dye shirts and volleyball. The biggest complaint would be we were too far away to get a drink once we went to our room. Other resorts had mini-bars for all-inclusive guests, but this is a timeshare reort.

I have been to either the Tamarijn or Divi All-Inclusives eight times. The Tamarijn has excellent food, a friendly staff, good entertainment and great beach and location. I would probably give it 3 1/2 stars. The rooms are very clean; however, they are at a point now where they desperately need updating and repair work. The sinks need to be "snaked". Our sink had a difficult time draining. After the first three days, our room would not lock. Maintenance had to replace the whole unit (dead battery) which became even worse. Now, it took over twenty minutes and hundreds of swipes of the card to get the room to open. (This happened frequently.) We were told to go to the front desk to straighten out the situation. The maintenance person showed up forty minutes later, but I was able to get the door open in the meantime. That's not good when you have to shower and pack for the airport. Air conditioners are noisy (but maybe that's standard for a hotel room). Esthetically, the quilting could be replaced on the beds. The coverlets looked a little worn, and the buttons to fasten the coverlet over the quilt were missing. The Tamarijn is showing some wear-an-tear (the economy?). If you are willing to put up with a less than perfect room, is still a good choice.
