Casa Conde Del Mar Hotel and Resort

We had very nice rooms with everything you'd need, and the pool and beach are very pretty. Food at the included breakfast buffet is very good, and lunch was delicious.

Very conveniently located relative to the Liberia Airport, a mere 15 minute or so drive. The rooms are fairly nicely appointed but have the flaw of having the beds next to the wall that the other rooms have the TV on. The walls also feel very thin, if the neighbors have the TV on you will hear it. This is even after I asked them to turn the volume down, and they actually did so. Staff seems a bit distracted, the manager lady that supposedly supervises the meals sort of snapped at us for daring to look for coffee. As it turns out in this hotel coffee is served at the table but still that's no reason to be impatient. She did not speak any English either - a waiter had to explain things. The bar at the pool was also mismanaged, long waits for greatly overpriced everything. Seems silly, if you overprice things at least have the common sense of trying to sell stuff. Of course due to location you won't have any other choice of getting a meal so I guess they are complacent. Their pool is awesome, very large for a hotel of this size. And that is necessary since I thought that the beach was only so-so. The water seemed a bit tepid, no waves and somewhat crowded. It seems this is a popular spot for locals to camp on the beach. Noting wrong with that, but compared to most other beaches is not impressive in any way. Overall assessment: for an "airport hotel" it is pretty awesome but I would not make it a destination.

Beautiful location! Everything was okay until Big RED ANTS started to come in via the ceiling. Got so bad we had to change our room when we were ready for bed. Staff was courteous and accommodating. Once in second room the front desk contacted us after about 10 minutes to see if everything was okay. Right after that...the Big RED ANTS began again. Needless to say...didn't sleep well.

Only stayed one night but a really beautiful setting behind a beach. Swimming pool was brilliant with some waterfalls and a bar. Wildlife in the gardens included large crabs and a giant iguana. Beach was very pretty but with dark sand so sea was not clear but very calm. Only criticism was the bedroom, which was really spacious, smelt musty. Would recommend a stay.

My husband and I stayed at Case Conde in mid-July. We had planned and researched our Costa Rican vacation; it turned out to be everything we dreamed of. We loved the hotel. For us, 'off the beaten path' was just what we wanted. The staff could not have been more attentive. The person at the tour desk gave great advice and both tours we took #the Adventure tour and the trip to Palo Verde# were fabulous. Eddie and Antonio at the swim up bar were the best. The pool was more beautiful than the pictures as were the sunsets. We were able to navigate the restaurant menu and make it work for us. Usually skipping breakfast, sharing a lunch, then having a dinner. The Costa Rican fare was much better than the American fare. We would definitely return to Casa Conde.

Overall, this was a pleasant place to stay and relax our last two nights in CR. The price was right and location perfect for getting to the airport, but has the feeling of being very remote. Pretty grounds and interesting wildlife viewing. Beach small and not super inviting. Rooms need a bit of updating.

It was great everyone was very helpful and nice. the pool was wonderful, the room was nice and the location was good for doing activities and going to beaches etc...

This hotel is set up beautifully. The landscaping is great and the pool area is gorgeous. The swim up bar is a great amenity and the bartenders were so much fun and warm especially Antonio and Martin. It is you want the feel of a resort but still get the charm of the culture this is a great hotel.

Was a great hotel. Beautiful grounds. Nice Restaurant. Dark sand beach and a giant pool. Had a blast. Lots of giant lizards just roaming around.
