arrived new airport late at night, 40 mins drive to hotel, hotel is in center of new town, lots of restaurants open, streets teeming over with people, live music, plenty to do into early hours, room was lovely, breakfast great, and staff great, perfect for a one night or longer stay in Quito

We really enjoyed our weekend at Nu House. Room was as represented. My only complaint is that we couldn't get any English language news stations, even though their official list of TV stations was lengthy. Also, be advised that there is no free shuttle to the new airport. A taxi will take an hour and cost $30.

Can't beat the location
A great location in the Plaza Foch, very nice staff, clean modern hotel, comfortable attractive room, nice bathroom, a great continental breakfast. They let us leave our bags there for the day before taking a night bus. Only negative side is that our room had no view and I felt it was a little over priced. But overall an enjoyable experience.

Skip "free" shuttle
Overall it is a nice place to stay. However, beware of the fact that if you are booking through any website the shuttle services are not free, although they assured us on the phone that it is free. Once they drove us to the hotel, we were asked to pay $9 fee. Although, it seems as a small amount of money for foreigners, it is still a rip off considering that taxi from the airport to hotel is only $ 4. When we asked the receptionist why we are being charged for a shuttle, especially why we are charged double of the taxi fee, the receptionist just turned red and mumbled something incomprehensive. So take a taxi and say NO to their “free” shuttle.

Nice, but noisy
This is a clean, modern hotel in the heart of the New City region of Quito. The area is lively, upscale, and well-supplied with shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly and spoke reasonable English. They were very helpful with bags, taxis, and restaurant recommendations. Some things in the room were not in good working order, but our main complaint was the noise. All the nightclubs in the area play loud music late into the night, and there is a constant din of car alarms, police sirens, and traffic noise. If you want lively night life and don't intend to go to bed before 2 am, this is the perfect place for you. Otherwise, you might want to look for something in a quieter area.
