Strand Palace Hotel London

hotel had a great location, easily accessible to attractions and subways. we were able to walk to most places. great recommendations for restaurants from the staff. very accommodating and friendly staff. would have been nice to have free wifi in this hotel.

I've stayed at The Strand Palace on four trips to London now. It is my hotel of choice in this price range, having tried several others. The location is the best. The rooms are spotless and the stAff are really helpful. It has friendly atmosphere. The only criticism would be that some of the rooms are small so ask for a large one. I will be staying there next time I visit and I recommend it highly.

Loved my stay here -- great location

I have no real complaints about the hotel itself. It's in a busy area so I was expecting noise to be an issue but it was tolerable (I was not facing towards the main road, thankfully). The room was crazy small, but I was expecting that in an old building in a European country. There are two Tube stations within easy walking distance. My real problem was the Internet issues other reviewers mentioned. If you have an iPhone or iPad it doesn't work (altho it will charge you and the front desk will have to remove the fee). Finding Wifi in London was harder than I expected it to be, but you'll find it here and there. Stay away from the BTOpen Voucher cards, as they also don't work particularly well on mobile devices. If you are using a laptop instead of mobile I believe that it would work fine. I would not stay there again, but it's only because of the Internet issue. Other than that I would have given it 5 stars, and would be back in a flash.

Great lOcation near charing cross,national gallery So for sightseeing made perfect sense! Room and bath were modern, up to date Internet access was extremely limited(30 minutes within a 24 Hr period) but could be purchased. Didn't need directions but staff seemed helpful;) Did not use restaurant at hotel asthere are many eateries adjacent to the hotel

It is a great hotel for the price at such a central location for theaters, museums and the famous sites, all in walking distance. However, there is no air conditioning and after a few warm days, the room was very warm, did not cool down at night and remained warm at night even after the weather cooled down. I would not recommend staying here in summer months.

The hotel staff is friendly and very accommodating. Stayed there on two different bookings. The second room was really small and hot, but the staff readily changed the room with no hassle whatsoever. That being said, there is NO air conditioning, [...]. Each room has a fan which worked with the weather conditions I experienced. Location can't be beat. So many things are within walking distance, including museums, Trafalger Sq., London Eye, Tate Modern Somerset House, Theaters, Covent Garden and more. Low frills, but convenient and clean.

very pleasant and helpful staff. very clean. ideal location for the theatres. price is good. not happy having to pay 2 pounds per item for baggage storage ie large suitcase or small hand luggage. will stay at this hotel again

Better than expected great location and value for money, will use again next time we visit London

Liked the location and convenience to the airport and all the activity in the STRAND. Was able to take the train from Heathrow switch to the underground and walk the two blocks to the hotel. Will always make this my base when I go to London.
