Thistle Holborn, The Kingsley

Viehättävä, pienehkö hotelli hyvällä alueella Bloomsburyn alueella, aivan British Museumin vieressä, kävelymatka West End teatterit, Covent Garden, Soho, China Town ja Oxford Street ostoskadulla. Henkilökunta oli sydämellistä ja huolehtivaista ja palvelu hyvä. Deluxe Twin huoneet näyttivät suuremmilta kuvissa, mutta olivat kyllä ihan ok kokoiset. Kylpyhuone oli puhdas ja uusittu! Aamiaisbuffet oli herkullinen ja riittävä, 10 puntaa voucherilla, jonka sai hotellista.

I really enjoyed our stay at the Thistle Holborn. My mom has mobility issues and can't walk far. We were able to reach a number of adequate restaurants in the area. There are stairs at the front which are inconvenient for anyone with a cane, but, we were able to deal with that. The accessible room was comfortable. The shower sprayed water over a very large area, but that was just a minor inconvenience. The staff was amazing in accommodating our needs. The booking agent didn't adequately describe what we needed, but they were able to change the room to accommodate us. Note to others: if you need special arrangements, after you book your room, make sure to call the hotel directly and confirm your special needs. We found the room quite warm and ended up opening a window to let the cool air in. That might just be due to us not being used to the conditions in London. The breakfast was a bit pricey, so we went 1 block down the road to a local cafe and really enjoyed the local ambiance that it offered. Better prices, more local flavor. All in all, a good experience.

Good location, walking distance to Buckingham Palace and Big Ben and easy taxi ride to St. Pancras Station for Eurostar. Breakfast buffet for 10 pounds also a good value. Hotel was BETTER than I expected based on review sites. Would definitely stay here again!

Sehr gut gelegen für Einkaufen, Theater, Museen - alles zu Fuss möglich. Auch direkte U-Bahn von Heathrow. Auch direkte U-Bahn ins Businesscenter.

Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit im Kingsley, das Personal war überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend und die Lage direkt am British Museum und in Gehdistanz zu Oxford Street und Covent Garden ist hervorragend. Man gab uns ein Zimmer im 5. Stock auf der strassenabgewandten Seite, es war sehr ruhig und für ein Stadthotel durchaus geräumig, mit grossen Fenstern im Zimmer und im Bad. Das ganze Hotel wurde erst kürzlich renoviert, daher ist die gesamte Einrichtung modern und in hervorragenden Zustand. Vermisst haben wir lediglich Slipper und Bademantel, sowie ein etwas reichhaltigeres Frühstücksbüffet, das für £ 17 doch deutlich zu mager ausfiel. Es finden sich aber in der näheren Umgebung etliche Kaffeebars, in denen man zu einem guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis frühstücken kann. Alles in allem ein angenehmes Hotel, das man durchaus weiterempfehlen kann.

Good stay, comfortable , modern, clean rooms. The hotel looks new. Recommend it.

I woukd not have been able to stay at this nice of a hotel if it weren't for the awesome rate I got. Truly impressed with the quality of the hotel for what I paid and staff was extremely helpful, even the concierge desk in instructing a first time Londoner on the underground, bus system, and airport transport. The only thing I would say is definitely get breakfast included in your rate if you plan to eat it there at all. Highly overpriced otherwise for a buffet breakfast, although you can order hot items.

Everything was great about this hotel. It looked nice and was very clean. We got a room with 2 twins and it was small for the price. But the bathroom was spacious and very nice.

From the moment you interact with the uber-polite and helpful reception staff, the Kingsley was superb accommodation. The modern baths with rain-shower heads and heated towel racks were delightful after cold snowy days in London. Linens were lovely. Wifi reliable and free. Location, just blocks from the Tube, the British Museum, shopping, grocery store was ideal. For wedding-based weekend it was great!
