Situated in Jesmond, Carlton Hotel is just few minutes away from the city centre. This property is also surrounded by Kingston Park, Metro Radio Arena, Quayside, St James's Park, Tyne Bridge and Millennium Bridge.

Starting from Newcastle Airport roundabout, after 178 yards take the 1st Exit off the roundabout and after 101 yards take the 2nd Exit off the roundabout into A696 direction NEWCASTLE, [A696] THE SOUTH, THE SOUTH via [A1].Continue straight into A696. After 1 miles take the 3rd Exit off the roundabout into A167 (Ponteland Road). Bear left into A167. Leave the A167 and join the A167(M). Leave the A167(M) and straight ahead into A1058. After 431 yards take the 1st Exit off the roundabout into B1600 (Osborne Road). Continue straight into Osborne Road for 1/4 mile until you see Carlton Hotel on your right hand side

Dont trust the name

Parking full with no alternative proposed ;Rear of hotel very dirty. Corridors and reception need refreshing. Room OK but stong kichen smell from downstair restaurant. Old TV out of order; breakfeast would be nice if made with fresh ingredient. Staff not very friendly

Unfriendly Receptionists

Hotel was good for what I was expecting except the reception staff. Receptionist were really unfriendly. I asked the receptionist to change my 10 pound note for coins but they replied that they don't change 10 pound notes only 20 pound notes.

For a weekend away this hotel

For a weekend away this hotel was average. The reception could do with a facelift as looking tired and tatty. The rooms we had were clean but the door was a bit rattly and I think with a good push the door would have opened very easily, not very inspiring for safety. The continental breakfast was average but we noticed tet the plates and cutlery were not the cleanest and could have done with a better wash and dry.
