Mercure Bologna Centro

Stayed here before departing for LA -- great location that is convenient to the train station and the best comfortable rooms.

Angenehmes Hotel, direkt gegenüber dem Bahnhof. Zimmer etwas klein, aber sauber und bequem. Zimmer gegen Innenhof war sehr ruhig. Das Personal sehr freundlich. In ca 5-10 Minuten per Fuss vom Zentrum.

I was in a business trip, visiting Carpi at Modena. The hotel staff was very attentive and helpful,with excellent recomendations. Location close to the train station and airport. Many good restorants, in the area at walking distance. TV mostly in italian, 2 channels in English, one spanish, one japanese (I think so..). Access to internet limited to 12 hr installments renewable at the lobby (easy to do it), but still the only hasle.

This hotel met my expectations. I was not expecting a Marriott with down comforters and Aveda products in the bathroom. I think this is a very typical 3 star European hotel, and I thought it was nice. The water pressure in the shower is not great, but it was not bothersome. As far as convenience, it was very convenient--and that's what I love. Seriously, DIRECTLY across the train station. We woke up, and took a day trip to Venice by train. While exploring Bologna, it is a short walk to the Fountain of Neptune, the Towers, and the Basilica San Petronio.

Staff was wonderful, courteous and very helpful. Location was fantastic, especially after coming off the train late each day. Easy to get to all the places in Bologna. the room was big, very clean, bathroon was excellent as well. The bed was extra firm, but I didn't go there to sleep alot. The morning breakfast was a great value as well. Will stay there agin on my next visit to Bologna.

I felt good in this hotel beacuse it was very confortable and the staff was polite. Excellent location.

Extremely convenient - across street from Stazione Centrale. Room was very small by US standards but very clean. Taxi to the airport was there within 5 min of front desk calling them.

Location next to the ferrovia was helpful. Great (!) gelatto stand on the corner. Room was clean and comfortable. The large garden courtyard was a nice surprise--great for getting away from the busy front street.

This hotel is very conveniently located immediately across from the Bologna Centrale train station. A 4 star property, it was exceptionally clean and appears to have been recently re-done. The rooms were quiet and decently sized with comfortable beds,linens and pillows, safe, minibar, free bottled water and free wireless internet. The individually controlled HVAC system worked well (it was in the mid 80s) and was quiet. Old fashioned room keys that were left at the front desk and provided without ID gave us some concern about security. Rooms to the rear overlooked a lovely park-like courtyard. Rooms to the front showed an uninteresting city vista The included breakfast consisted of a wide assortment of both European and American hot and cold items. A coffee machine made individual servings of cappuccino, latte, espresso, and Caffe American. The menu and breads and pastries were the same each day, however. This hotel caters mostly to business travelers and did not have a concierge desk. However, the front desk staff spoke excellent English and were happy to answer questions, give suggestions and help with arrangements. A 24hr city bus pass was included. All in all we felt this was equal to a 5 star hotel and highly recommend it. As a tourist destination, Bologna doesn't offer much. There's the usual Cathedral, Church buildings and shopping areas. I had hoped to visit Europe's oldest Medical School and University, established in the 9th century, but there were no tourist accessible venues other than old, dusty zoology museums. We could not find a tourist information office and info at the hotel was limited to a few restaurants. If you;re just touring, don't spend more than a day here.

Room was small and plain but was clean, comfortable and quiet.
