Augusta Lucilla Palace Hotel Rome

Pros: - This place is just minutes away from the Termini Train Station & Bus Stop. Super Convience location. - Friendly staff and no problem with English - Excellent Sound insulation from the street (window), nothing from outside bothered us - Recently renovated condition, nice and clean - Good hygiene condition in bathroom Cons: - May be a few more hot plate selection for breakfast, but not bad experience for (free) breakfast - Our room is "small" (see room comparison below) - Our bathroom shower stall is tiny and doesn't has place to put soap, shampoo etc. We have to place it on the shower stall floor, which create extremely inconvience because it's too tiny. - Our room card key entry system is not working, so we have to use the old key system - No major Cons My wife & I stayed in room #107, and our friend couple stayed in room #607 (top floor). We paid almost the same price (different booking website). Here is the comparison between these two rooms: - #607 is 2 times bigger than #107, with new hardwood floor instead of traditional plum red carpet. - #607 has bath tub vs #107 has tiny shower stall - #607 has queen sized bed but #107 only has double sized bed - #607 has huge sink and bathroom storage space vs #107 has a sink only - #607 has bidet but none in #107 - #107 has super a/c but weak in #607 - #107 has excellent water pressure but okay pressure in #607 - #107 has street view but #607 has inside view (basically no view) - #607 refrigerator is not working properly - #607 has extra space and extra chair - #107 card key entry system no working hence the first pot light is not working too (the one you control by inserting your card key). So the room are pretty dark at night. At the end of the trip, I still enjoy my room #107 over #607.

It has large rooms by Italy standards. They are cleaned very well every morning. The staff was respectful, spoke English decently, and were helpful in booking and confirming reservations at numerous sites for us. I have heard alot of people complain about the area, but I found it safer than any US big city I've been to. I felt alot safer in this area than alot of San Francisco. It is also 2 minutes away from the train station which aided me in reaching any of the sites in no time. The shower did seem to leak a bit due to its design, but just a small amount. Small gripe for a great overall hotel. Good size beds but slightly hard too.

This hotel is centrally located and a perfect place to take a family. The air conditioned rooms are spotless and well appointed and the staff very helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. Located near the train station, all of Rome and Italy are a stones throw from your doorstep. Even though the building is older, it has modern amenities for everyone. The building is beautiful and exactly what we were looking for in Rome. All of the historic sites are within walking distance and we enjoyed them both during the day and night. I was especially impressed with the local food options.

This location (about 3 blocks from Termini station) was very good for touristing. Lobby and room very nice; shower pretty cramped but usable. A/C worked well and was needed due to high heat/humidity in Rome. Breakfast was mainly coffee, baked goods, canned fruit and so-so scrambled eggs. Service was good overall. Housekeeping was excellent. Able to do A LOT of touristing from there. Several good restaurants in neighborhood.

The hotel is very convenient to the Termini station for train and metro travel; making it easy to visit the major attractions Rome has to offer. There are several restaurants nearby. The buffet breakfast is okay, but nothing special. The wi-fi (E 10/ 3 hrs)did not work in our room. The air conditioning worked wonderfully.

Room was small but spotless clean. We typicly stay in W, Westin or Hyatt in US. The price of highend hotes in Rome were just too much so we settled for this place. So do not expect W but great rooms and service with nice free breakfast. do not expect Hyatt type lobby and you will be fine

Great location and room always clean. Room was very small but who wants to stay in room all day. Can walk to pretty much anything but the metro is right there.(and so is the train station) No need to cab it anywhere. Don't expect a smile from Italians but the rest of staff, foreign, were great. Didn't feel afraid at all. Next to opera, museum and lots of food. Would stay there again in a minute.

The location was great. Three blocks from the train station. The room was very small but clean and the bathroom was nice. We were only there for one night before our cruise. I loved the breakfast.

Friendly Staff, Good service, great food.Very Central location easy to get to all transportation. Saw most attractions of Rome. Onlyone negative point the Taxi Driver who drove us fromGrand Termini to hotel was a crook[*] For a distance thatshould have cost me less than 4 Euros he took us for a ride of 12 euros.
