Augusta Lucilla Palace Hotel Rome

The hotel was great, newly renovated, spotless room although a little small but perfect for the time you going to spend there, bathroom and shower very clean but not curtain of division so the whole bathroom get soak and wet when you shower but it didn't matter. Service was incredible; breakfast included was good, not fantastic but good to start the day. Safe box in room, very close to train and subway station and a lot of sightseeings around. Hundreds of hotels in the area, so is pretty safe. A little confusing to located, so make sure you bring a print out with map and directions in detail, just to get there, once you are there, you get in and out very easy. You can't beat the price; don't pay attention to bad reviews about small things that other people complain about, like breakfast (remember, it's FREE!!!). It has a 1 Internet station in the lobby if you want to pay for the Internet, we didn't use it, so I don't know how good or bad was. I'll stay there again and I extremely recommended to anybody in a budget and easy going that do not care much about the size of the room, or the beautiful decor, etc. we spent probably only 1 hour a day (other than the time sleeping) in the room, it's so much to see in Rome that you won't even have time to be there for long. The bed was comfortable, we ask for a double bed, so it was 2 twins joint, but it worked fine. We checked in around 10 am so the room wasn't ready, they put or luggage on storage, gave us our keys and we hit the road, when we came back at evening, our luggage was in the room safe and sound. If you are planning to check in early make sure you wearing comfortable shoes and adequate clothing for the season, get your gadgets with you (cameras, mp3 players) and stuff you think you going to need and go and start enjoying such a beautiful and fascinating city as Rome is, and don't worry about the room, when you come back, everything will be ready and in place for you just to crash after and exhausting day in Rome.

Breakfast only ok but great location if you don't mind long walks to sites. Main train station very close and easy to take train from airport then walk to hotel. Day trips to Pompeii, etc. easy via train. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Wireless expensive but works well in room.

The hotel was in a VERY convenient location, walking distance to the train station, saving us cab fares. The room was clean and comfortable. I wish I could have found more stations on the TV as I would have enjoyed watching Italian programming.

The rooms are cleaned daily but they did not hover the carpet for the 7 days duration of our visit. The television is a bit pre-historic and reception not very clear for the limited channels available. The location of the hotel is 5* close to all places of interest and yet very quiet night and day. The receptionists were friendly, professional and gave useful information on things to see and how to travel to various destinations in Rome. The stay would have been more enjoyable if they provided tea making facilities in the room and an iron + board to make the Hotel 4* proper. The Kingsize bed is superhard which we really enjoyed but may not be suitable for every tourist.

This hotel is a block from the train station and the metro. The only attraction within walking distance is the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. The metro will take you anywhere else you want to go for cheap. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were quite comfortable. The european style mattress was a little firm for my taste. The rooms were beautifully decorated although small. There was barely enough room to walk around the king size bed. They offered a complimentary european style breakfast buffet which had amazing food. It was a couple blocks off the main road so it was quite but still close to most everything you need. A great place to stay for the value.

Great location - pretty, small, clean rooms. You can get anywhere from here-walk to the Colissium. Decent food-

Great, well priced hotel. Rooms were very free from noise from other rooms but we did get some traffic noise from the street. Italians LOVE to blow their horns! Decent breakfast. The hotel made reservations for us at the Borghese gallery. The location CANNOT be beat. We were a three minute walk from the metro, busses and the train station. Rome involves a lot of walking but using public transport helps to save your feet a little! Go to the restaurant Babbo's on the street behind the Baths of Diocletian. The best steak and well priced at 17 euro! This hotel had nice toiletries, towel warmer (to dry clothes on!) and nice big towels. We were extremely pleased with our choice and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

This was our family spring break trip. There isn't anything for small children at the hotel, but ROME is just outside of the front door! Close to the train station, but no noise. Small, but clean and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast buffet, but how can scrambled eggs be so watery and tasteless? Expensive and unreliable internet access. Go find an internet cafe. Helpful and friendly staff. Easy access to public transportation and everything Rome has to offer.

Fairly classy for a budget hotel. The location near the train station is great if you take the 11-euro express train ("Leonardo") to or from the airport and don't want to deal with taxis or public transportation. It's not the classiest neighborhood, but it's decent enough, and not a long walk to more interesting areas. Room with a single twin bed was fairly small, but very clean, comfortable, pleasant and even stylish, as is the entire hotel. Staff was fairly friendly. I'd be a lot more enthusiastic if they offered free wifi--they charge 5 euros for one hour, and it wasn't working at all when I was there. But otherwise a good value.

This hotel is convenient to the central train station, metro stations and to a variety of quality restaurants in the area. It's also an easy 15-20 minute walk to the Colosseum and Forum area. This hotel made it easy to sight see and also have a relaxing vacation.
