Crowne Plaza Hotel PARIS-REPUBLIQUE

Nice food. Decent view. Safe location by Metro station. Friendly service.

We were backpacking for this European trip and this hotel was a little too comforting, but no complaints here. :) Everything seems luxurious enough, almost comparable to some of the large Las Vegas hotels. Hotel staff spoke very good English and were all nice. They do charge for WIFI. Eatery around the area are very good and can range from McDonald, KFC, Pizzarias and of course French restaurants. Don't expect McD and KFC food to be the same in the US though. Hotel itself has restaurant and bar/cafe. We only ate breakfast at the restaurant and they offered good buffet food. Metro train is just in front of the whole bldg for convenience. The only negatives we can think of are in the bathroom. A ceiling industrial type tile and a light bulb were slightly tilted and expose a little of the roof lining. Also, some wall tiles were cracked and edges has regular bathroom molds like in most households. Still not bad compared to the other hotels we'll be visiting through out Europe.

Nous avons eu une très bonne réceptionniste mais la suite du programme était totalement HALLUCINANTE . Nous allons dans la chambre, très déçu par les lit et la salle de bain ( 700euros pour 2nuits ) . Chambre très petite ( ne pas regarde les photos ce n'est du tout LA MÊME CHOSE ). Par la suite nous sommes allez en bas dans la petite salle avec le buffet a volonté , SURPRISE nous nous sommes fait agressé verbalement par un cuisinier ( dont je ne citerais pas le prénom ;)) qui n'as pas apprécié que nous sommes allez à l'accueil pour etre servi ( demander 3 fois en 30 minutes, alors que censé avoir a volonté ;) ) Ensuite en ce qui concerne le service en chambre, n'en parlons PAS ... Serveur qui claque la porte, qui dit a peine bonjour, pas souriant ... Il nous propose une carte, sur la totalité de la carte nous ne pouvons avoir que des sandwich ou une salade a 15euros ! Cet hotel est pire que un F1 en Seine St Denis . Bon courage a ceux qui oserons y aller . Cordialement,

Excellent hotel and very central location with metro only ~20 metres away.Place des Vosges and east end of Rue du Rivoli are within easy walk. Room was very good with high ceiling and floor to ceiling french doors. Also lively canal district 5 mins walk.

I visited Paris for a week in May 2011. The hotel is very nice inside - exactly what you would expect from a Crowne Plaza in a major city. This hotel is within walking distance of the Seine, the Louvre, Notre Dame, and almost anywhere in the city if you're fit and willing to hike. Three important things about this hotel: 1) You need to get the superior room. The standard rooms all face the street; the superior rooms face the interior courtyard. 2) This hotel does NOT offer air conditioning in May. If it's warm prior to when they turn it on in June, you may have difficulty sleeping, especially if you're jet lagged. Not even the fitness center was air conditioned. 3) The surrounding area, Republic, needs work. None of this is the hotel's fault, of course, but you need to be aware before you book. There is a campground of bums in the park in the middle of the square; there's a lot of traffic in Place de Republic; and there was a large, hostile pro-Palestinian demonstration in the street next to the hotel our first night. The northern part of Paris is pretty "gritty" and doesn't clean up until several blocks to the south. If you're an experienced traveler or a business traveler, none of this should present an obstacle. We walked everywhere, including the Louvre and the Eifel tower, about 8-10 miles every day without much worry. However, if you're looking for the story-book, pastoral Paris most tourists expect, I'd suggest avoiding northern Paris and staying closer to the Seine.

Hotel was situated in Place de la Republique, steps from metro station. Good neighborhood with great dining options. Internet was terribly expensive; otherwise the hotel is nice (has a small fitness center as well) and the staff was friendly.

The neighborhood is a bit scruffy, but the hotel was terrific,good staff and the Metro is outside your front door and there are alot of good resturants within 150 yards of the hotel.

Lovely hotel with great location. Bit of an odd crowd in some areas of the city but it was no bother-we still felt safe in this location.

Pros: The hotel is in a decent location- near great restaurants, a metro station. It's fairly modern and relatively clean. There was a nice terrace- although it doesn't really resemble the pictures online. Cons: Unfortunately, our room faced the Place de la Rebulique so day and night we would hear traffic, motorcycles, and sirens if we opened the balcony- if we didn't the room would overheat (the thermostat/fan function seemed to be little more than decoration). The staff were not very helpful, one always appeared to be on the phone when she was helping people at the desk. We also had issues with the hotel not following through on champagne being delivered to the room on arrival, luckily no one ended up being charged, but the only surprise when we got to the room was an item of discarded underclothing left in the back of one of the dresser drawers. Overall, not the kind of place to go for your honeymoon, fine for a business hotel if it isn't on your dime and you don't care that much about great customer service. Also, try to get a room not facing the street.

Très bel emplacement au coeur de Paris avec un accès à plusieurs lignes de métro à proximité. Chambre confortable. Menu TV très complet mais beaucoup d'options payantes (Canal +, musique...). Attention au prix du petit déjeuner (buffet à 25 euros).
