Hotel Drei Loewen

I chose this hotel for price and being near the main train station. The street had some casinos and strip bars but seemed safe enough at night. An S-Bahn entrance is nearby too. Bathroom was bright and big, great shower but the second morning the water was only warm. Bathroom had a radiator heater but it was not enough for me, keep the door closed and heat builds up a little. I was there early May, it was cold and rainy outside. BEd was good for one, nice warm blankets. Flat screen TV but the only English was Bloomberg and BBC. It was funny to see Big Bang Theory in GErman tho. I did not use the restaurant, buffet breakfast was 15 Euros. I went to the train station for most of my meals, Yorma, Dean & David, etc. Next to the hotel entrance is Ali Baba, doner and kabobs, nice fod but I'm not crazy about lamb. Water there was only 1.5 Euros. Staff were helpful and polite, but very GErman (formal). One internet laptop in teh lobby, with a printer. Free for guests.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in Bahnhofsnähe und man liegt auch sehr nah an der Innenstadt. Das Personal ist freundlich und die Zimmer sauber, allerdings wurden alte Fliesen im Bad mit weisser Farbe übermalt (die Fliesen darunter entsprechen auch nicht mehr dem Geschmack der Zeit) und diese Farbe löst sich nun stellenweise, wodurch kein sehr schönes Bild entsteht. Ist allerdings ein kosmetisches Detail, welches allerdings sofort ins Auge fällt.

Praktisch gelegen (HB), trotzdem innen relativ ruhig. Personal äusserst initiativ und hilfsbereit.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Drei Loewen. The Hotel is ideally located. It is a 5 minute walk from the central train station. If you are in Munich for the Oktoberfest, it is only a 15 minute walk to the Oktoberfest grounds. In fact, many tourist activities are in walking distance - shopping, beer halls and beer gardens, historical sights, various sightseeing opportunities, etc. The bar is very small - just a couple of bar stools in the lobby area. There is a nice seating area though for those wanting a nightcap. The hotel was very very clean. We stayed 7 nights and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was great. Like many hotels in central Munich, there is no air conditioning. We stayed in late September and the weather was very pleasant, so the lack of a.c. was no problem. There are casinos and mens clubs nearby. But this did not cause us any concern at all. We never felt unsafe no matter the time of day/night. You will find that casinos and mens dance clubs are just a part of this entire central Munich area, no matter where you stay. If we ever return to Munich, we will stay at the Drei Loewen.

I think this hotel is a good 3 star and not a 4 star. I was told there was air conditioning, when it didn't work, I was told there was no air con, then told there was air con but it didn't work - very strange! The room offered to me had 2 windows, one couldn't be opened as it just looked onto a brick wall, the other one could be opened cause this brick wall was about 2 feet away. The hotel did change my room and provided a fan but this is not the level of service I expect from a 4 star hotel. The shower was also blocked and didn't drain properly

La rue où se situe l’hôtel est un peu mal fréquentée. Jeunes buvant de la bière dans la rue vers 17 heures!!! - L'équipement mis à disposition dans la salle de bain n'est pas digne d'un 4* (bonnet de douche à demander à la réception, pas de flacons individuels de shampoing ou douche). Odeur de cirage dans la chambre. Petit déjeuner pas digne d'un 4*. Dans la chambre il est inscrit que le wifi est payant, une fois que vous réglez la note vous voyez que c'était gratuit!! Dans la chambre il y la liste des chaines TV. Que des allemandes annoncées!!! Ce n'est qu'en zappant qu'on découvre qu'il y en a bien d'autres.

die Lage am Bahnhof München ist nicht ideal; die Gegend auch nicht; ansonst ist das Hotel in Ordnung.

Bardzo przyjemny hotel dobrze zlokalizowany. Obsługa hotelu bardzo miła.

Short but good, Room size could be somewhat lspacier.
