The Central Plaza Hotel

Overall, the Central Plaza Hotel was great! The Concierge went out of his way for us a couple of times, for example helping with the internet connection. Two recommendations to the hotel manager: mattress on the bed was lumpy and could be replaced and a coffee pot in the room would be a nice convenience that American travelers would enjoy.

We like to find a hotel adjacent to the train station, both for getting settled quickly, but also for an easy walk when we depart. Central Plaza is perfect, and we were pleased with our stay. We tried to stay there as well ten days later at the end of our trip, but the rates had jumped too much, so reserve early.

Excellent location immediately across bridge from Zurich HB train station. Small rooms, but pleasant. Good breakfast for 26 CHF. We left hotel 20 minutes before train departure and were in our seats with ten minutes to spare.

Es war ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt, das Personal sehr hilfsbereit und bemüht. Lage super zentral - Also werde ich bei meinen Reisen nach Zürich auf die Liste setzen.

The central location was perfect for us. Our room was compact but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was not included, but there are restaurants and a large grocery store nearby. The central train station & Bahnhofstrasse were just across the bridge over the Limmat River, and the old town is just to the south. The in-house restaurant was very good if very expensive. Given that Zurich is one of the world's most expensive cities, this hotel offers reasonable value.

The hotel is easy to find and it is just within walking distance from the train station and city centre. Free wi-fi in the room with impressive connection speed too. I arrived at 7am(way earlier than the usual check-in time) at the hotel, but the hotel still managed to find me a room, and even better, they could change from the twin-bed to double bed per my request. I was very impressed with their flexible arrangement and service! The only downside is there is no kettle in the room. So there is noway to make coffee or tea, unless give the front desk a call of requesting hot water delivery service! The price of the room is of course slightly expensive. However, this should still be considered to be acceptable in Zurich for its high living cost. Buffet breakfast is not included, but worth to pay for its price due to its selection, and it is probably better deal than other breakfast places in town. I would recommend this hotel for both business and holiday purposes.

Great location - close to the train station and major bus/tram hub. Also, close to the pedestrian blocks with numerous restaurants. Room was fine, clean. Service from desk was more than sufficient. With the great location does come some noise from the trams and general traffic of the area. We were there World Cup night so it got pretty noisy on the streets. Their windows kill off most of the noise but for a light sleeper, it would be difficult. Regardless, the service and location make it a super place to stay.
