Days Inn San Jose Convention Center

This is the kind of hotel no one sleeps at. The smoke alarm was broken and beeping when I got to the room. Their solution was to remove it. When I called for directions, the desk clerk could not understand what I was saying. He simply did not understand English. The morning continental breakfast was bad pastry or frosted flakes. You are taking your chances here and the odds are not in your favor.

Gross. I would never stay here. I would rather sleep in my car. There was no sheet on the bed, to cover the blood stained mattress. People screaming outside and creeping around. I didnt feel safe. On top of that when I asked for my money back, he refused to give me what I paid for a cancelation fee.. which he wanted more than one nights stay worth. Never again.

I know that every hotel receives mixed reviews, but please take heed when you see all the comments below that this hotel is a disaster. Seriously. While the price is low, there is a HUGE difference between an affordable hotel and an unacceptable one. This Days Inn falls into the latter category. Quick summary because I don't even want to relive the terrifying experience that came with this hotel: - People standing outside smoking illegal substances near the pool - Broken room lock where someone had forced their way into the room - FILTHY carpet and sheets with cigarette burns I could go on and on. Immediately after checking in and seeing the broken lock and condition of the room, I knew this was a place I did not want to stay/feel safe. I asked the manager for a refund and he quickly obliged (even he acknowledged that many people had problems staying there). I know you are probably trying to save money like I was, but please do yourself a favor, spend the extra $20 and don't waste an entire night sitting up in bed wondering if someone will break into your car or room and steal your stuff. Any travel site should be ashamed to even list this as an option on their site. You have been warned.

Horrible experience! I thought other reviewers were just being nit-picky. WRONG! Coffee maker did not have a coffee pot - when called the front desk, was told they all got stolen. Squished bug stuck on wall - been there for a while. We requested a smoking room, which it was, but there were no ashtrays. When we called the front desk, they said they'd see if they could find one. A little while later, he showed up with a paper cup and said to put water in it for an ashtray! Believe it or not, it happened! Air conditioning was broke - several people had their doors open, or were outside trying to cool off. We wanted to open the tiny window in the room, but of course there was no screen. Had a small refridgerator, of course, it was broken. Wanted to take a long soak in the tub, put no plug for the drain. There was old, cracked caulking around the tub, in several areas it had turned black. This is just a few examples of this "fine" establishment (sarcasm). You're a fool if you say here! Don't say you weren't warned!!

Pool was nice and clean, service everyday However management was hard to deal with

The location of the hotel its the worst, in a very dangerous area, there's are no street lights on at night and the staff its horrible... No presence at all. Not a family hotel. the hotel allows parking lot drinking in groups of men.

While staying in the area for a construction job I checked in on Monday pm, and was given a very small, poorly lit, un-vacuumed, torn carpet, broken shower head, garage sale furniture, dirty room. I had requested a microwave that was advertised as having one, but it was missing. The clock radio/alarm clock was also broken. The soda machine was also out of order. The next day I asked for the microwave again and was told they didn't have one, so they moved me to another room. This room was twice the size, and much cleaner. So I was happy about that. This motel is very dirty outside with butts, litter and sidewalk stains all over. The continental breakfast is minimal with only two chairs to sit at with virtually no lobby. I didn't use the pool. It doesn't seem to be a very safe neighborhood. The only thing good about this place is the price.
