The Shores Resort & Spa

The facility itself is well-maintained and beautiful. The rooms are nicely appointed, but the four poster beds get in the way if you are into watching tv with your bed-mate. There are NO blackout curtains, only sheer drapes, so you'd better be a morning person. Finally, although the staff is not UNFRIENDLY, they are poorly trained--for example, the valet never opens the door for my female passenger. When the iron in the room was found to be broken, a call to the front desk was made they were friendly, but more than twenty minutes later, I had to call again. The new iron was finally delivered 30 minutes later (with apologies). When we were leaving, carrying our bags, one staff member watched us struggle to get through the front doors, when he could have easily held it open. The valet then watched as we packed our car, then approached us to see if we needed directions anywhere.

Very nice property. Food expensive but you get what you pay for and high quality.

By far the best hotel in the Daytona Beach area!! And my best stay there, ever. They are doing a better job of hiring/training. The staff were incredibly upbeat and friendly. It was as though they wanted to do everything they could to make me happy with my experience.... and I definitely was!!!

Hotel was beautiful but I didn't know construction was on-going so some things not finished. Staff wasn't genuinely helpful, seemed like front desk said what they needed to, and smiled, but not really genuine. Room was nice, clean and well stocked. Wireless worked well; service was prompt. Would stay again and recommend to others

THIS WAS THE BEST HOTEL WE'VE EXPIRENCED IN DAYTONA BEACH. THE STAFF WERE VERY CORDIAL AND HELPFUL. tHE ROOM WAS GREAT. WE WENT TO DAYTONA BEACH TO CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR WITH FAMILY. WE DINED IN THE HOTEL AND WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WITH THE FINE FOOD.

We walked the beach and stayed up until midnight watching the ball drop on tv from NYC. It was wonderful and romantic!

Our basic purpose for a one-night stay was simply to 'chill out'...rest...replenishment. Our beautiful room was all we hoped for. We were especially pleased with your pillows (heavenly). Friendly service all around from front desk to valet parking to dining room! Only one small suggestion: The in-room coffee service should provide for more than two coffee brewings.

Excellent location, Great view and very clean.

I was there for one night on a business trip. I came in about 10 pm. It was a bit of a drive down A1A to get to the hotel. As I got farther out of downtown Daytona Beach, I was wondering what I got myself into. When I saw the hotel I was very pleasantly surprised. Check in was easy. Valet parking easy and reasonably priced. I asked to be on a high floor and was accommodated. The room was as the website showed. It was clean, charming, spacious, nicely done. Even had a nice view of the inland waterway. Although there was a mention of a robe, none was in the room. I'm sure if I asked for one, it would have been sent. The restaurant closed at 10 pm. I was disappointed. I had room service delivered to the beach-side patio fire pit. Again, very accommodating and the food was excellent. After the meal, the server advised that the chef made a boo-boo and offered to make it up to me. The boo-boo wasn't noticeable. The candor and the effort were appreciated. Next day, I returned from my appointment and wanted a late breakfast. At 11 a.m., breakfast was over. So, at 12 I went for lunch. Basil tomato soup and grouper tacos were only excellent. Ultimately, the hotel's comparatively remote locate was a selling point. I felt like I was somewhere more pleasant and remote than Daytona. The hotel is good looking and well done. I've stayed at 5 star hotels which could learn a lot from this place. When I'm back, I intend to stay there again. Unfortunately, if they get the traffic they deserve the price will increase. However, that personal concern shouldn't prevent me giving the Shores the accolade and praise it deserves
