Pacific Beach Hotel

This was the second time I stayed in this hotel. It was great the first time and so I returned. I was in a different building.. the Beach Towers. The safe did not work, the closet door was off track, the light switches were very difficult to turn. The internet cable did not work but the hotel took no responsibility for that becasue I paid a separate bill for that. They were not so friendly the second time. But I would probably stay here again becasue of the location.

Room was fine. Had a fridge and pay-for-service wifi. The coffee maker in the room had standard brand coffee; adequate, but not too inspiring. Buying the breakfast plan was a good deal if you like a big meal in the morning (including Asian food).

Central location by the Waikiki beach but a busy street between hotel and beach. Good food and service

Include Free parking.

Seemed understaffed, took a long time to check in, many persons traveling from Japan together. Had to upgrade at hotel[...]. TV broke hotel fixed it at 11:00 pm, didnt get to keep movie promise to son. Wanted to take a bath but the plug broke and came completely out. Beds very uncomfortable. Will not stay here again. Not a 4 or 5 star hotel!!!

The Oceanarium restaurant was very nice (especially when there is an available table near the huge fish tank). I took my girlfriend here for a week as a Birthday surprise. Just the two of us show up early. The room is supposed to be ready at 3pm. At 3pm we went to check in and they said the room is still not ready, we continued to come back every 10 minutes and still not ready. We couldn't check in until 3:45. Then we get in the room and it was two single beds instead of one king. I go back downstairs to let them know, and they were rude about it as if I was the one who inconvenienced them. I stayed calm because I didn't want to be in a negative mood, I couldn't wait to drop off my things in the room and go explore Hawaii. We go to the new room and lay on the bed, and no joke, this bed was hard as a rock. The room was nice and clean but the bed was very hard, and the "Oceanview" upgrade to me, was a waste of money as you still face another hotel instead of the ocean, you have to lean over the balcony and look left to get ocean views, I went to a different clerk to talk about this and she gave me a snotty response also, she said "If you can lean over the balcony and see the ocean, we consider this an ocean view". I didn't want the hotel to spoil my trip so I let this go and went to grab a drink. As the next person behind me went up to the desk, they were much friendlier. It seems as if for some reason, they were favoring their Asian guests over U.S. Travelers. That did kind of bother me. Our shuttle driver was great, he told us where to go to grab a drink with a nice view, and there is no better bar then the one at the Ala Moana hotel, the staff there is VERY friendly, make very good Mai Tai's and the bar is right on the beach. You can hop the wall and take a few steps and you are in the ocean, that's how close. Next time, I will definitely stay at Ala Moana hotel instead of Pacific Beach.

Staff was friendly; upgraded our room to a "partial ocean view" upon arrival without request. Rooms very clean and view was great! Location is excellent for walking to everything in Waikiki. Only downside, lobby smells of cooked fish in the evenings when the buffet at the Oceanarium Restaurant is in process.

Great location and view of Waikiki. Had a beach front room which was beautiful, but made it hard to sleep due to noisy traffic on street below in mornings. Hotel could use a little updating. Maid service wasn't the best I've ever had. The view and location is what made it worth staying. Would stay there again only for the location and view.

The staff was great. The rooms were nice. One problem they show a great gym, but it is a 24hr Fitness gym that you have to pay for.

The hotel needs some updating but was clean and adequate and nice location near the beach. The bathroom seemed very out of date with peeling paint and splotches of red on the ceiling over the shower. Also no counter space to place any toiletries.
