Pacific Beach Hotel

I had two rooms booked for the hotel. when I arrived, it took me more than 30 minutes to have the reservation staff accommodate my party. I was given two rooms with two double beds. I needed one with just a king size bed. I was informed that in order to get a king bed, it would be more. I was even told that I couldn't get rooms higher than the sixth floor in the smaller of the two main buildings due to my selection it would cost more be on a higher floor. I finally convinced them to give one room with a king size bed. I would have rather stayed somewhere else knowing all the details than to be so manipulated by the staff.

We were told that we could have a King bed on the web site but when we got there only got 2 doubles. I almost fell out of bed several times. 9 nights and they could never switch us without an upgrade charge even though we have been going to this hotel since 1984. Sort of disappointing . Other than that the room was quiet as they put us on the floor with flight crews and they just wanted to sleep... For the first time in years I will now consider a different hotel on our next trip.

I've stayed at this hotel a number of times...and I've never noticed the walls being so thin. It seemed that I could hear ever cough, sneeze and toilet flush. The location in Waikiki is actually quite good. Overall...for what I paid...I can deal with a little ambient noise.

the best part about this hotel is the location. its definitely in the primary location of center Waikiki, so you can pretty much walk to any main destination. the hotel itself is very average, nothing special, it has a vintage feel with a lot of families running around. the room was spacious with a balcony. the only thing that bothered me was the front desk service. they never picked up their phones! i am not sure if i will stay here again but, overall, it was good for the price.

This hotel was basically for my wife and I to stay two nights, one upon arrival in Oahu and the next day after seeing Pearl Harbor. It met expectations - not terribly expensive and a location close to the beach. The appointments were average, on par with a budget hotel. The restaurant downstairs smelled like fish and we never ate there and never seriously entertained the idea. The beach is close by, restaurants and shops are close by and that's the upsides of this place.

there was a lot of activity in and around the hotel. Great location, average hotel.

Everything except the outrages parking charge was good. Be prepared to lay down some of your fun money just to park and then walk with all your stuff.

Drain was clogged in the shower and the coffee maker in the room was not clean. There was some kind of particles in the pot after the water was brewed. The location is great and this helped us get to our destination and do our business with no problems.
