Amalfi Hotel Chicago

While the Amalfi has some nice touches, including a very nice staff and big rooms, I found it overall to be an average to below-average experience. Small things like dirty carpets and a dysfunctional toilet were annoying. But I think the deal killer for me is the hotel walls and exterior are paper thin, so noises are accentuated, both from outside the room, in the hallway, and from neighboring hotel rooms. I don't think my neighbors were being particularly loud, but you could hear then all too clearly when they where in the room. I will not stay there again when in Chicago.

We had a great time and will return to this hotel for sure. We went to attend a Chicago Bulls game and the stadium was a very short cab ride which was great. This hotel was near many things so you did not have to go far if you wanted to go out to eat or hang out.

The hotel Itself from entrance point speaks for it self. Everything was well organize. The hotel staff was very very very friendly and informative about places to site see and eat around the city. They even recommended local clubs and lounges in the area that offer free admission because of our stay at this hotel!!!! Everything that you would need is only a block away. Room service was very on point. Now to the pricing, it was super affordable . I stay 3 nights and paid 500! Anywhere else is that location with the same amenities where trying to charge me 800 for 2 people! I would defiantly recommend this as one of Chicago best hotel for those that are looking for 4-5 star quality. I will be staying there again on my next visit!!!:-D

Chic but without many on-site amenities such as bar, office, workout, pool etc. Good social cocktail time in evenings. Nice clean rooms and helpful staff.

We were there Easter weekend. Location is perfect, staff is amazingly helpful and genuinely friendly. Nightly cocktail hour is great too.

This is my third stay at this hotel, and all have been good experiences. The room was a good size, and had some nice amenities including a wonderful shower with two shower heads. The staff were friendly and I find the location to be well-situated in the middle of the attractions I was hoping to see in Chicago.

Loved the Amalfi! The location was great, the breakfast was simple yet fine, located on every floor and it was really nice not having to walk very far for a cup of coffee. The complimentary drinks and snacks in the evening were a VERY nice surprise! The staff couldn't have been any more friendly or happy to see you. It was everything I needed - certainly not a full service luxury hotel but for the price, I was very happy and would certainly go back again.

The Amalfi has a couple of things going for it: first it's very well located for stays downtown, a block from the river in amongst the anonymous high rises. Secondly, it includes a free breakfast, served as a buffet on each floor. The breakfast is convenient in being close to hand, though getting food and drink back to the room to eat is a bit of a chore since they don't provide trays. The food is what you'd expect from an anodyne, businessman's hotel: a small assortment of fruit, packaged cereal and juices, and industrial muffins and danish, along with urns of coffee. They do their best to refill but it can get depleted if you're there at the wrong time. Our room was relatively large with a view of the large building across the street. Fixtures were anodyne but functional, WiFi worked well. Our only problem was that twice they did not come to clean the room until we had returned from sightseeing in the early afternoon. Once it took well over an hour to get someone in when we called. Generally speaking it's a good place to stay, but don't expect character or special treatment.

This hotel offers alot of extras, like free breakfast on every floor, and happy hour drinks. Location is great, close to the Magnificent Mile, but not too close so as to be away from all the noise. Staff were extremely helpful in booking dinner reservations and recommendations, and providing me with some essentials due to missing luggage.
