Amalfi Hotel Chicago

The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean and well-appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the continental breakfast laid out on each floor for eating in the room, there were more options than we expected. And the comfy robes were a bonus. Great location.

Free Happy Hour. Free Wi-fi. A great deal for the under 35 age group. In a convenient area of downtown. I do wish the hotel had a pool, but we survived without one.

The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and large enough that we did not feel cramped. We did not take advantage of the cocktail hour but the breakfast was better than expected. The only bad think was the view. The price was great for Chicago. The hotel is close to the river walk which everyone can enjoy.

If you're looking for a fancy hotel but don't want to get dinged on the extras, this is the place. It's not tall, so you won't get the extra view a lot of Chicago hotels have, but you'll be treated right. Free wi-fi, open bar cocktail hour (it's busy), breakfast, and a clean, quiet room.

We spent only one night, but it was quite a pleasant little get away. My wife had just spent the weekend with some friends at another hotel the previous weekend, and said that the bed, pillows, vanity lighting, and happy hour and breakfast made Amalfi the better place to stay. The room might not have been as fancy as others available, but we had no complaints and would certainly stay there again. Get to the happy hour early, as it gets busy and places to sit are limited.

From the moment we arrived we knew that we would really like our visit The staff was very receptive and happy. Everyone including the door man appeared to be working at this hotel. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed getting the morning paper and the daily cocktail reception. The breakfast buffet on each floor was a good idea. My only suggestion would be to vary the food selection. Fine if you are staying just a couple of nights but we were there for eight nights and a change would have been nice.

Our two night stay was wonderful. If you are looking for views, they are limited. If you are looking for comfort, cleanliness, curtious staff. This is the place. Nice continental breakfast on each floor every morning until 9:00a.m. Complimentary drinks (happy hour) each evening with light hourderves.It is convieniently located to dining and shopping. We would definitely stay on our next trip to Chicago.

Nice smaller hotel that occupies on the first six floors of the building in which they are located. The lobby was very small, but the hotel & room was nice sized, modern and comfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful. No additional fees were imposed, which was very important to us. There was breakfast provided on each floor and a manager's happy hour on the sixth floor every day at 5:30 with complimentary premium liquors. Only complaint was the traffic noise at night since the rooms were so close to the street.

We spent the week-end in Chicago for our 27th wedding anniversary. We were planning on staying at a different hotel and received an e-mail with a 15% discount. The hotel was incredible and we were so glad we made the change! The location next to the river was very convenient and we walked to everything including daytime and night time activities. The happy hour and continental breakfast were above expectations and the service was fantastic.

The hotel was in a great location, right downtown. The room was very clean, and the staff was excellent and very attentive. The breakfast on each floor was great too and convenient.
