Days Inn Mackinaw City - Lakeview

We stayed in Daysinn during the Memorial day weekend, and the place was quiet decent. The rooms were good and clean, bed was very comfortable and staff were friendly as well. The place is very near to the mackinaw parasailing and Sheplers ferry who provide free shuttles to your hotel.

The room was sooo small that the one bed was right against the A/C so the room could not cool off. there was mold by windows and as you drove up shingles were falling off the building. The only good thing about this hotel is the beds were comfortable. I will never stay at this hotel again.

The property is a combination of old building and relatively new. We were in the old section. I was major frustrated with two things. One was that the water in the tub was reversed, hot was cold and cold was hot, it addtion the water was much hotter than normal and scaled a foot while dealing with the reversal. They made a note when we reported it, but we found out that several rooms in our row are set up that way. The second problem was that the "seals" were broken on all but one of the shampoo, cream, etc.....

Upon my arrival i was asked for a credit card for incidentals and immediately the clerk copped an attitude.Since i had already prepaid for the room and there were no incidentals in play.she stated we might trash the room.i was greatly insulted..

We pre-paid for the 4th of July holiday week, and we were so disappointed with the hotel that we tried to get reservations at several other hotels. I can't imagine what "award" this particular hotel was awarded. At check-in, we discovered that there was no wifi or internet connection in the rooms. Walking up to our room, we passed torn screens, dirty floors and more spider webs than a haunted house. Thankfully, the room itself was clean, although definitely worn around the edges. If you're looking for a value-priced hotel for work or vacation, keep looking.

This was truly one of the worst experiences in all my years traveling and it wasn't so much the hotel (well, parts) but the staff. The manager was EXTREMELY rude and power hungry. She treated people like dirt for which I later confronted her about. The room was ok... and I mean just ok. The beds were very uncomfortable but it was close to the boats to the island. It is a very, very noisy hotel and you don't get much sleep with the night activities of the other guests. Please be careful... there are a lot of choices in this area and I would NOT recommend this one. Go do a hotel that can boast that name.

I paid high-season prices for a budget hotel. The best I can say about this tired property was that the sheets and towels were clean and the mattress reasonably comfortable. The 'view' of the lake overlooks a ferry parking lot with vehicles coming and going at all hours. The aircon was a noisy wall unit that cycled all night. The continental breakfast was the usual fare, nothing to write home about. In summary, the off-season price might put this motel into better perspective, but I would not stay again during high season.

We only came back to the room after running around all day. I barely remembered the room. There was nothing outstandingly positive but there was nothing negative either. We had a lot of fun walking around town and doing all the touristy stuff. If you are worried about hotel offerings and freebies this might not be the one for you, but if you just want a place to rest that feels good and secure it will meet those expectations.

Took the whole family (16)to Mackinaw Island for the day and enjoyed the pool and hot tub when we returned. Thanks

check in was easy. the room was dated looked like the pictures had been there since 1984 but every thing worked and I found the bed to be comfortable. if your going to the island this hotel is great becuse the arnald and star boat docks are right next door. the one thing that bothered me is that I payed for a lake view but becuse we were on the first floor I had trouble seeing the lake through the full arnald line parking lot. over all I would stay here agen but i would try to get a second floor room.
