Holiday Inn Express KANSAS CITY-WESTPORT PLAZA

My husband and I were not impressed by this hotel. We were in town for one night and found the room and bathroom to be just ok. Our pillow cases were labeled soft and firm but both pillow cases had the same super soft pillows in them. The ceilings everywhere in the hotel had water damaged looking cracks in the them. The free breakfast was just ok with some flat egg, omelet looking things that tasted dry with an indiscernible filling in them... They did have good coffee though. My parents also stayed in this hotel this weekend. They stayed one floor up and had a bird die in the air conditioning unit creating an awful smell! The hotel staff removed the bird and sprayed the room with air freshner pretty quickly. They said they have been having this problem with bird in the ac units lately. I would probably not stay in this hotel again.

The Holiday Inn Epress in Westport is in a great location, only 5 minutes from downtown and the Power and Light District. We found it a perfect value for a hotel in a city. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

I am astonished that the people that are responsible to ensure the high standards of most HIE hotels let this dump slip through. I am a platinum member and love HIE usually, but I recommend you stay in a Motel 6 before staying here. The rooms are extremely outdated, the walls are paper thin, the neighborhood is natty, the restroom smelled strongly of mildew, there wasnt even a soap dish in the shower. The breakfast area made me cringe. RUN AWAY!

Guest rooms require major dusting. Tile ledge in shower not dusted in weeks, picture frames the same. Continental Breakfast..pancake maker out of order according to dog eared hand written sign with no date. There was something round in a case...eggs? I intended to get coffee, but housekeeping and maintenance staff were having a conversation in front of the coffee machine and I got tired of waiting.

Room had an outdated look. Did not smell good. Bed was very uncomfortable. Some stains were on the bed ruffle. Just wasn't a pleasant overnight stay. Will not use this exat hotel again. Thanks

Good hotel. Nice, very clean and very friendly. Highly recommend it.

We wanted to be in the downtown area and this was perfect. It was clean and the desk clerk gave us a city map. We ate at Jazz which was very close. It was a great Cajun restaurant

Right in the heart of Westport wth staff that were very friendly. I'll be back.

This was an "ok" place. If you are out for a ballgame and come back to the hotel after 9pm, good luck finding a place to park. The hotel shares its lots with a very popular bar which is located right across the parking lot. We had to parking 2 blocks away in a residential neighborhood. The bathrooms need upgrading (no exhaust fan or overhead lighting). the beds are too soft but I will say it was a very quiet nights sleep on the 6th floor.
