Hotel Phillips

We stayed only 1 night after Zac Brown. We live in KC so know the area. Had seen the hotel and knew it looked nice from the outside so I gambled for the high price I paid for 1 night. My wife and I were there for a nice getaway from the kids and had reserved a room w 1 king or 1 queen. When we got there the front desk told us they only had a room with 2 beds. I asked if they were queen and was told they were. When we got up to the room they were double beds. I wouldn't have paid as much as I did for that. The next morning when I checked out, the guy asked me how it was, and I said, "The beds were kind of small". HIs response was "OK". It wasn't worth the fight so I just left...and I won't be back.

Restaurant expensive, Valet service excellent, customer service excellent entire stay until we tried to check out and could not get a cart and had to carry our stuff down from the room with only 1 elevator of the 3 working had to wait on the elevator. we even checked out an hour and 1/2 early to avoid this situation but did not help. Elevator problem not hotels fault, just happened when we were there. It is an old, gorgeous hotel. well worth the money.

This was a bad day for me, I missed my flight, car broke down. I was stuck because of the snow storm and this hotel stay made things a lot better! Thank you.

Great for all the weddings and events in the P&L district. Walking to plenty of dinning and onsite bistro with love music on the weekends.

Beautiful old hotel with friendly service and unique charm. Aside from noisy A/C, a comfortable stay overall.

Very close to the power and light district. Hotel bar was very pricey. Save your money and walk a few short blocks to the pld

Walking distance to Power and Light and shopping. Rooms are a little small but comfortable and very clean. The lobby is nice too. Good view from the 18th floor of downtown KC. 3rd stay here and is definitely our go-to down town hotel!

The hotel takes you back in time with its elegance but with modern touches (like large HD TVs). The staff is extremely courteous and treats you like royalty. The downtown was surprisingly quiet but there are all kinds of dining opportunities (ranging in price) within just a few blocks.

Brought the wife for our anniversary and we absolutely loved it. Clean rooms, great location and a beutiful building. We will certainly go back.

I stayed here because of the location alone. Only a couple blocks from the convention center so that's great. Not near much but offices and other hotels so don't plan to walk around the corner to grab a sandwhich. Ate at the hotel restaurant for lunch one day, bad service, dirty plates and ok food. Rooms was clean enough although they never brought me kleenex or had it in my room when I checked in, just an empty box. Front staff was really nice, everyone friendly. Free internet worked well. Good TV selections although fuzzy picture. I never complained about that though.
