BEST WESTERN Sovereign Hotel - Albany

Spent 2 nights, everything was fantastic, room was very comfortable, location was great. Bartender was exceptionally friendly. Made my stay away from home much more pleasant.

The staff is very warm and welcoming. This was my second stay at this hotel and I will stay again when I come to town. The rooms are clean, the entrance is welcoming.

Had a great experience. Dropped off my son to SUNY Albany, and this hotel was right across the street. Nice room & good breakfast!

By far the worst hotel I have been to! From te moment we walked in, till the 3 hours later (when we actually left!) it was a terrible experience. We got to the room and it was freezing. They didn't bother to heat up the room knowing it was going to be booked. We turned on the heat for the room on HIGH_ but that didn't work. It was as good as a hair drier trying to warm up a large room. My dog threw up bc of the cold weather. My mother threw up too, and I am sick with a cold/flu. We left after 3 hours because the effort to help us get a warm room was minimal. They gave us a SMOKING room- then after telling them we requested a NON SMOKING room, they sent us down the hall and around the corner. Then after that hassle, we see that the heat in that room is just as bad. I understand Albany is COLD, but that only means that the heat in the rooms should be CENTRAL AIR or be properly working units. Very very disappointed. I planned to keep coming to this hotel which is very convenient to SUNY ALBANY- but we will not be returning. No effort was made for a compensation or a credit for future stays. Definitely tells you how the quality of service is at this hotel. The girl at the front desk said "SORRY" as I handed her the room keys when we left at midnight to drive back a 3 hr drive back home to NYC.

Comfortable, clean, and lots of extras: a good-sized, warm pool, a sauna and an exercise room, a fridge and microwave in each room, plus a coffee machine and coffee. A hot breakfast with healthy options! All at a great price and in a very central location (o.k., it's not downtown).

Stayed there for business, room was very clean, though a little old. Bed was comfy, plenty of hot water. Add the free hot breakfast and indoor pool, and you have a good deal.

My boyfriend and I just needed a night with no family no friends and no distractions, this was a GREAT choice. Not only was the hotel fairly priced but it was close enough to escape from the insanity of every day life for a little while. As we were checking out another customer was at the counter yelling about the lack of service in the breakfast bar, the employee kept his cool answered this raging lunatic politely and completely and upon speaking to us apologized for the inconvenience.... My boyfriend and I were amused by this rude fellow and proceeded to tell this employee that we understand fully as we both work retail. Overall I would revisit the Best Western Sovereign again and look forward to the opportunity.

Spot on you don't need or get better than this. Really like Best Western
