La Quinta Inn Queens (New York City)

Only 4 station from downtown good breakfast good service

We were on a three night getaway before Christmas. We wanted to see all the sights and enjoy the holiday festivities in the city and didn't want to break the bank two weeks before Christmas. The price was very reasonable, and the location was great! The subway is practically right across the street. It takes you to Grand Central Station, and of course you can get anywhere you want to go in New York City from there. We arrived on a Thursday evening at 10:30 pm and had no problems at all. The neighborhood felt very safe going to and from the subway during the day and late at night. There was always others out and about on the street. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My grandson got sick in the room that night, when we called the front desk, they immediately brought us new sheets and towels that we requested. The room and the hotel are the basics for a two star hotel, but everything was very clean and the breakfast was very good. I will definitely return, in fact we have already booked a room for a couple nights this summer!

it was nice and the subway was 2 blocks away which was easy to go into the city the hotel was average i would stay there again

This was a fairly convenient base for our 5-day tour of NY. The train is about 4-5 blocks away in either direction along Queens BLVD and it goes right to Times Square. The area is not beautiful, but it's not so dodgy either. Also, the rooms are fairly nice for mid-level budget hotel. To give you an idea, they are better than a Motel 6 or Econolodge, though not nearly as nice as a typical Fairfield Inn. Now on to the reasons I gave it 4 stars and almost dropped to 3 stars. First, the breakfast is OK if you like donuts and bagels, but don't expect much. The website mentions waffles and fresh fruit; well, I never saw a waffle and the only fresh fruit was bananas, which were often absent and green/bruised when they were present. The TV strangely did not have an NBC channel (maybe just our room). The staff grudgingly gave us a 12:30 late check-out (the sign says 11 AM), but then we received two phone calls and two knocks on the door. That was unpleasant. Overall, I'd say go for it if you get a good price and don't expect too much.

The Hotel is very clean, and the Staff is very friendly. I was there to vist my sister that is in the Hospital. The price was the best that I have found in New York for this type of nice place. I will always stay there each time I go to New York.

We were at the hotel twice , in the first time it was much better . This time the carpet was very dirty , the room was small and the refrigerator was not good , they had to change to good one . I don't think that i will go there again .

excelente hotel recomendable por el servicio y cortesia de los emplados tanto del la recepcion como los la limpieza de cuartos quienes son muy honestos , me gusto la cercania de manhatan solo 15 munutos al time square enfrente del hotel esta el subway numero 7 que pude tomar para conectarse con el E el tren que va al aeropuerto JFK lo cual hace no sea necesario tomar taxis , tambien la seguridad y tranquilidad del area del hotel

very nice, clean room. I stayed at the first floor. It was quite except for some people from next room noisy. I general liked the rooms for that quite decent price. Subway is very accessible just couple of blocks away. Customer service is also nice and professional. Good breakfast too. I liked this hotel than other hotels I stayed in Ny with even more higher price. (The AC is a lil noisy. I didn't like it).

arrived late; hotel staff (2 males at desk) provided no assitance and no information. elevator was accessed by descending five steps(approx.). hotel is one of many new NYC hotels in formarly industrial or commercial districts. built using European standards of accomodations. Parking lot had minimal spaces available.
