New York Marriott Marquis

This hotel is IN TIMES SQUARE. As soon as you walk out the door you are there. You can go in any direction to see all the New York City attractions. The Subway was a block away and great and inexpensive for getting around. 5th ave shopping, Central Park and The Empire State Building are all walking distance. Double Decker Hop on/off busses sell tickes right in Times Square. All Theatres are within walking distance to see a great show. Shrek the Musical was great for all ages.

What a fabulous location - very centrally located within walking distance to everything. Hell's kitchen area(great affordable dining), theatres,central park(10blks away)of course smack in the middle of Time Square.The hotel was quite friendly and great restaurant and bar -[...] at the bar was very helpful. The cleaning personnel provide extra towels and the beds where very comfy - almost did not want to get up and sightsee. We took the tour buses which was a great idea since we only had 48 hrs to see all the main sites. Empire state blding is taxi cab drive of $4.50 - if you do not want to walk it. the west side to the tour citysites ferry to the Statue of liberty is a great way to avoid the long lines at battery park. We will come back- definitely.

The hotel was in a great location. The room was roomy, clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The only compliant I have is that the temperature would never adjust to a comfortable range and the room had a dampness and the exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working. Overall a nice room.

This Beautiful hotel and helpful staff made our first trip to New York a success. However, if we ever travel back to New York, we will be staying Uptown, where it is appears to be quieter and slower paced.

Hotel was very busy and congested. but staff was good and accommidating. Helpful with reservations etc.

I don't have anything bad to say about the Marriott Marquis at all as we enjoyed everything. Everyone we encountered was super nice. The rooms were very clean, and we definitely had enough space. We didn't order room service for breakfast b/c of the high prices (but this is New York). Of course, the location is excellent.

This is my first time staying at the Marriott Marquis. I definitly think that I would return; the room was great, comfortable, had a great view, and the beds... OMG the best bed I have ever slept on. The only downside to staying at the Marriott was one night when I got back to my room, my room key was not working and after going downstairs to get a new key twice (that still did not work), I called down and I was given a big time attitude. I waited about 20 minutes before security came up to my room and figured out that the door lock had run out of battery... Its a small detail but I could have done without the attitude!

We took our mother to NYC for her 60th birthday and wanted to stay in Times Square. We settled in on the Marriott for it's prime location and by recommendation. We all had an amazing time and liked this hotel very much. The rooms are of good size for a NY hotel and it was very clean and nicely decorated. The elevator systems were strange at first but we got used to it quickly. The staff members were accomodating. We didn't use the hotel facilities nor restaurants because there was too much to do out in the city and all packed in a long weekend! Carnegie Deli was within walking distance. I myself, like a smaller scale, more intimate feeling hotel but the Marriott was perfect for our needs especially if you are more than two people in a room. We would definately return.

It was a great location however, we didn't spend too much time in the hotel. For the total amount of money spent and the few hours we were actually in our room, I think next time I will head out of the time square area and save some money.

Obviously one of the best hotels in the world....But they need a refund on their elevators which were good when they worked, but very challenging when they did not...They worked about 80% of the time...Not very reassuring when you are on the 32nd floor
