A bed to sleep
This hotel must be seen just as a bed to sleep. The location is great. The Empire State is just 2 blocks away and you can walk to Times Square. The staff is unfriendly and bitter, I recommend avoiding them. Compared to other 3 stars hotel I have stayed, the hotel and the rooms have the same amenities and comfort but the staff is quite unfriendlier. Ah, they did have muffins for breakfast in the lobby, that was a plus.

Great location
We were visting NY for two days and looking for an affordable hotel in a decent location. Wolcott is superbly located right in the heart of Manhattan, close to Empire State and Times Square. Also very close to the subway stations. But certainly not for those looking for a luxurious stay.

Good value
The price was right for a hotel in Manhatten. Close to everything. Some rooms small and air conditioners could be improved (window). I traveled with two other couples. Our air conditioner was noisy but very effective. Other couples air conditioners were not effective and their rooms were smaller than ours.

In a pinch when you're pinching
When my first hotel didn't meet my expectations and I needed to move, I found this hotel. It was classic in its period style, the only complaint I had was that there was an odor in the hallways. Smelled like someone was cooking a bad meal.. The location and cost couldn't compare to others.

Great location in the heart of Manhattan
The hotel is located in the heart of manhattan, just a few steps from the Empire State Building and is conveniently located close to several subway stations. The room was nice and clean, however the bathroom was really too small!!!!!

Nice hotel great location friendly
Had two twin beds in one room and another twin bed in the other room each room had own tv alarm clock dresser and closet...Less than two blocks to the empire state and a combation of dunkin donuts subway and baskin robbins accross the street...also 4 blocks to penn station which was great...

My First Time In New York City
The Wolcott Hotel was a fun place to stay at. It wasn't so busy, I felt comfortable. Also, it was near time square and many convenient locations, such as restaurants, shopping center, and the subway stations!

Just fine
The lobby is BEAUTIFUL! The room was VERY clean but its time for new carpet and definitely updated bedding. I would call it a Euro-style hotel with a coffee/muffin they call breakfast. I think that the Holiday Inn Express is a better choice for the American traveller.
