Econo Lodge Downtown

Only reason I'm giving this 3 stars instead of 5, is because it's not a "5 Star Hotel." Had an excellent experience and would definitely stay again. Super-nice, accommodating staff.

The hotel charges $10 a day to park. The floor lights in the elevator didn't work.The soda machine did not cool drinks. The room did not have a hair drier. The room had an extremely slow and weak wifi connection. The tv was a tube type with poor picture. The bathroom looked to be in the middle of remodeling. The floor tile still had grout around edges. There was no transition from carpet to tile. The door would not close. The shower knob back was not fastened to wall. The shower would only get luke warm.The power in the whole room went out when we used the hair dryer we had to buy. We stayed 2 nights and had no housekeeping services. Called down to get new towels and was told they weren't out of the dryer yet. An hour later they brought up 1 towel. Called a second time for more towels, washrags and soap. Half hour later they finally brought 2 towels, 1 washrag and no soap. The room door did not fit properly and rattled every time another door was closed. It also let light and noise in. Heard other guests at all hours. There was a drug dealer less than 10 feet from the front door to the hotel who offered us drugs twice.There was no fruit for the breakfast and there were more employees than guests eating both mornings we went. Our room was next to the room they served the breakfast which also served as a party room. We had to listen to loud voices and music both nights. I have had better service and amenities from a $19.95 a night motel.I don't if we got this room because we used your site or if all the rooms were this poor. I can't imagine being in business with this poor service.You might want to think twice about associating your name with this hotel.

Great location, Very friendly staff, close to everything, great value!

We were a little disappointed with our stay. The staff was o.k. overall, but there were a few issues. Our room wasn't straightened out one day. We also inquired about the "Free Wi-Fi" and was told "I guess it's broken". Running toilet at night was annoying but after the wi-fi conversation with front desk, we just figured it wasn't worth our breath. Lights out in upper parking lot and even a subpar wakeup call on checkout day. I guess we shouldn't complain, there was beds, hot water, an iron & ironing board, coffee maker and blow dryer - that's all we really needed. -lol

"You get what you pay for" describes this experience, although I feel as though I still paid WAY too much for this hotel. There was hair in my bathtub, the stopper didn't work and I was unable to give my kids a bath, breakfast consisted of stale pastries and cereal, the room smelled, and it was extremely noisy to the point my kids couldn't sleep. The room was missing a hair dryer and an iron, and the bed had a wet spot on it when we first arrived. We ended up checking out early and going home because all other hotels were booked... driving 6 hours through the night just to avoid spending the night there.

This is an old and outdated facility. No Early check in. Price does not reflect the $10 a day added parking fee. TV had no remote, No towels when we got there. Bed was in need of mattress. One elevator not working all the time. Walk to Beale st. is Longer then you think, I wish I would have spent more for a better room closer to Beale St.

Had a large corner room not a horrible place to stay. Perfect downtown location walked everywhere. I have stayed there in the past and my room then was not as good as corner room

Although this property is a bit dated, for the price we paid for a weekend stay(St. Pats and various other things going on downtown that weekend as well)we were more than satisfied with location and cleanliness. We weren't there for amenities but more so for easy walking to Beale St. and the FedEx ctr. It's definitely not fancy-but park your car in their garage(minimal charge involved)check in and wander downtown for some great food, music and people watching. Check out a trolley ride($1 for a ride or $3.50 for a day pass) or grab one of the cute horse drawn carriages for a break on your feet.

The bathtub should have been replaced. As soon as i open the door to the room a smell of musk hit you in the face. The furniture was outdated and should be replaced. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone

this hotel stunk with the smell of mold and melldew.the windows has melldew on them and when it storm on the 02/22/2013 the rain can throught the heater and wet the floor.the bath room!the tube look as if it was dirty.but it could not be clean,i would not use this hotel for ant reason.do not believe in what you see in these's pictures of the hotel.
