Quick break in the Cotswold’s

A great location only 1.5 miles from Chipping Norton. Lovely Cotswold village we stayed on a Sunday night but found it hard to get a taxi or uber so we decided to eat at the hotel limited menu and lack of atmosphere in main restaurant. The following day had a great breakfast buffet. We had a studio room with a full kitchen and a golf view but we didn’t use it as it was a quick visit the outside patio was huge with table chairs and lounger’s. Would definitely go back. The only thing missing is a swimming pool which they are looking to have. Overall a great experience.

Booked this for my partner for his birthday last weekend was full of golfers not idyllic quiet noisy terrible breakfast and no service from staff very disappointed . Would never go if you want tranquility and peace.

I stayed at this hotel as a base of operations for my visits to all the other villages. There was amble parking and the room was clean. I did not experienced the spa or the restaurants of the hotel, as I chose the hotel mainly for its location and spent only the sleeping hours at the hotel, which is satisfactory for me.

They had a wedding and guests were leaving after midnight, drunk, keeping us awake for hours. Our room had no aircon and was completely roasting - we had to sleep with balcony door open - sadly overlooking parking. We couldn't sleep until all wedding guests were done with their drunk singing, taxi rides etc. I was contemplating driving back to London because whats the point of coming to countryside if you can't sleep because of noise?? The staff didn't control the situation at all, guests were running up and down our floor laughing like crazy and screaming. Way past midnight. They can't call themselves Hotel & Spa as they no longer have the Spa bit. Misleading. The staff doesn't really want to be there. Barman couldn't be asked to serve us, or pick up dirty glasses (took him 2 hours to come out from the bar area to the terrace to pick up glasses left behind). Bar has zero atmosphere. Restaurant staff told us they are full until 8:30 so we had to eat elsewhere - we came back to the bar around 8 and they restaurant was empty. So they just didn't want us there. Breakfast - super disappointing - just scrambled egg,no other egg options. Scrambled egg looked like it's been there for a few days. Coffee - filter or nescafe instant,I did laugh out loud! No proper coffee machine. Didn't even provide a bottle of water. Pillows - absolutely disgusting, one super flat and one filled with small bits of god knows what. Shower head was so full of limescale - water barely coming out.

Good location (if you have a car) in the Cotswolds with clean modern rooms. Quiet with friendly staff. We had a good spa treatment. The restaurant had a good deal - food was pretty good but not top level. Room a little warm for us as with many hotels. Main issue is the gym was very poor - this really needs sorting out - most equipment was broken, no mats and no aircon. Only really ok for rowing machine a running machine (before 5pm) and free weights. Luckily we didn’t want to do much in the gym so it was ok. Otherwise a lovely stay.
