A lovely hotel staffed by incredibly lovely people. Book directly with the hotel instead of using Expedia, of which my estimation has been dropping like a box of bricks since they gobbled up hotels.com. No customer service, misleading room listings, your stay points really accumulate slowly— it’s the American way. And they put their staff in impossible situations when clients are dissatisfied. When do I get to review our corporate overlords instead of the people trying to work for them? I have so much more to say, but let me just stop and say ‘really great hotel with hard working staff ‘

Clean, Comfortable - great stay

Our stay at The Carmel Beach Resort was absolutely amazing. It’s one block from Carmel Beach, clean and comfortable. Carmel by The Sea is a small quaint town so the property is small but very well maintained. My guess is that because most of the properties were built in the early 90’s with the exception of the historical ones, the property was recently updated. It was a bit hard to sleep the first night because the room creaked a little and we could hear all the noises from the appliances in our room. If can sleep past that, the view was gorgeous from our deluxe ocean view room. We would definitely return to this hotel should we decide to visit Carmel again.

No room service when their website says that they have room service and breakfast included but they wanted to charge for that and also they wanted to charge for a little bottle of lotion when we didn’t even have that in our room and I always bring my own never going back.

The staff were great and the hotel and location are the best. Issues we had, one was the shower had no pressure and it felt like I was shower with a water bladder when I go camping. And the bed was upside down. It wasn’t double sided. Wife said the bed felt funny and it was upside down. Bar tender helped me flip it, no issues after. Except super expensive drink.

A Charming Hotel in Carmel

A good friend and I decided to spend a few days in Carmel at the Carmel Beach House. We were extremely pleased with our rooms and especially the wonderful staff. We were driven to and from our restaurant reservations every night and had freshly baked cookies brought to our room each day. The hotel is a block away from the ocean so the views and the walks were splendid. I would certainly stay there again. My only (slight) criticism was the cost of the drinks we had at their bar. $30 for a glass of white wine did seem a little excessive. But it was very nice to be able to go there before dinner each night.
