The weather didn’t cooperate when we were there for the weekend but we made the best of it. It was great to come back to the motel right in the National Park to dry off in between hikes. We loved the kitchen area to make food, the space in our room, and the heated floors. The bed wasn’t great for us but others might love it.

First of all the view is amazing! Clean, spacious rooms. There is plenty of space for luggage and any hiking equipment. The heated floors are a nice touch and the large radiator heater gets the room nice and toasty. Having a kitchen is convenient as dining options are limited (and expensive) buy what you need beforehand in Twizel. There is also a laundry which is handy as you'll be getting dirty clothes on your daily hikes. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Nice Mountain View from all rooms. Love the big bath tub with jacuzzi. Very comfortable space to come back to after a day of walking/hiking. Only thing is the kitchen table cloth is not clean and have greasy smell.

Our room was on the end of our building and we had a wake up view of the top of the mountains. We walked to the short Governor’s Trail the afternoon we arrived. It’s pretty steep, but easy overall and perfect to get moving after a 4hr drive over. It’s a good climb Very easy access to the Hooker Lake Trail and well worth the price for a one night stay. They assign a parking spot for your unit and someone took ours when we were away at dinner so we parked in the laundry spot and our neighbor experienced the same issue. Simple rules folks.

It is VERY expensive for what it is—essentially a nice roadside motel. There are very few dining options so it has a kitchen but no plates or bowls. The bed was very soft for any back health and the TV didn’t work. To be fair, it is in the mountains but to rely only on satellites means it doesn’t work much of the time.
