Was supposed to be non smoking but people did. The beds were terrible. Carpet needed replacing. Not up to Wyndham standards at all. Very disappointed

This Travelodge is sandwiched between two liquor stores. Upon returning to the hotel late at night there were drunk vagrants harassing my wife and I as we hurriedly entered our room. We turned on the A/C unit purely to drown out the noise of the loud, drunk hooligans. Also, the staff had the audacity to force us to pay a cash deposit even though the room was already paid for. Luckily, we did get our deposit back, but I was unaware of the deposit requirement prior to booking. There is a waffle-maker with the continental breakfast!

For starters my stay was incredibly peaceful while within the hotel. Everything is on its way or fully updated on the interior and the exterior of the building. Fresh linens, brand new and clean bathtub were nice to see. Staff were friendly and prompt with check in and check out, though I didnt know there was a minimal cash deposit of $20 for prepaid customers, I luckily traveled with cash this trip (which I dont normally do). There wasnt any third party advertising for that policy, only at the location. The rates were incredibly cheap for a pleasent and incredibly quiet stay. They were stuffed to the gills every night and I didnt hear a peep. The area of which this hotel is at is extremely rough. Leaving and coming back to my room was always a bit unnerving. Between two run down liquor lockers and multiple abandoned buildings on a road with potholes the size of my car in a clearly heavily drug run area, as a woman traveling alone I wish I would have known that. I appreciated the property and stay, but I would have paid extra to not feel uncomfortable coming and going feeling like I did. Another downfall about the location is, as someone that was traveling through to site see, its a bit of an annoying distance from the lake and activities becuz it is in Muskegon Heights. If its just an overnight stay for an event it would make sense but the amount of times I went back out to do things made it daunting. Overall the stay was brilliant but would not pick to stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights. The property was clean and quiet. The road coming into the property was rough, but the property itself was in good condition. Plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower too. Recently renovated property and a good breakfast. Good value for the money.

Outstanding Hotel and a Bargain to Boot

I've stayed at this property on a previous trip to Muskegon. This facility is outstanding. Very clean and comfortable. My room looked as if it had just been remodeled. What a bargain as well! My night's stay was a fraction of thecost of similar hotels and included breakfast. This Travelodge is my go to facility when I'm visiting West Michigan.

This property has gone downhill.

I stay in this hotel often and find it clean, fairly quiet, and comfortable enough. I'm considering finding another hotel to frequent after my most recent stay. The property is in decline and many things were broken in the room, and the room was generally dirty. Pillows were very flat and worn with several shoved into one pillowcase, and only 2 of them in a King room. No blanket on bed, only a sheet and a thin polyester sheet type coverlet. The drain was clogged in the shower. There was some sort of loud and drawn out altercation involving domestic violence in the hall in the middle of the night. Ok for a fast desperation stay perhaps, but I'll likely not return.
