Overview

Guimarães, Portugal. An ancient curse has been triggered: five descendants of the Moorish kings have unwittingly arrived in the city, and according to medieval legend, the rivers will rise and swallow everything until the city sinks into the sea. You are the only one who can stop it.

This self-guided city game uses the Questo app to lead you through 11 chapters across 2.2 km of Guimarães' UNESCO World Heritage centre. Start anytime near the castle, play at your own pace, and race against a rising tide through medieval legends. No guide or fixed schedule: just you and a sword to find.

Your route takes in the heart of medieval Guimarães: the nearly thousand-year-old castle, the Romanesque Igreja de São Miguel, the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, the Praça de São Tiago on the Camino de Santiago, the ancient olive tree at Largo da Oliveira, and the medieval city walls.
