The experience begins in a quiet family garden in Shkodër, a peaceful setting where you are welcomed as a guest and treated like family. You’ll be seated at a beautifully arranged table beneath the vines, surrounded by nature, and invited to enjoy a homemade vegetarian dinner prepared with care, time, and respect for local traditions. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, offering a genuine glimpse into everyday Albanian life.
All dishes are prepared using 100 percent organic vegetables and fresh herbs grown in our own family garden, just a few steps from where you are seated. Each ingredient is harvested the same day and cooked following traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations. The raki is also homemade, carefully distilled by our family using time honoured methods that reflect our cultural heritage.
The meal begins with a generous selection of vegetarian meze including fresh white cheese, local olives, roasted peppers, marinated vegetables, and homemade bread baked daily. This is followed by a seasonal vegetarian main course, which may include dishes such as vegetable filled byrek, japrak with rice and herbs, or slow baked vegetables prepared with local spices and olive oil.
To conclude the evening, you’ll enjoy a traditional homemade dessert, such as kadaif or house made fruit preserves using seasonal fruits, served with coffee or raki if you wish.
Every dish is made with natural, high quality ingredients and with great attention to cleanliness and detail. Between courses, you’ll hear stories about the origins of each recipe and the deeper meaning of Albanian hospitality. This is more than just a vegetarian dinner, it’s an authentic local experience you’ll remember long after the meal is over.
