What you can expect

  • The tour departs at 12:45 from the Bodø Tourist Information office on Dronningens gate, right in the centre of Bodø. We begin with an introduction to the city as we drive towards the idyllic Saltstraumen area.

    First, you will experience the current from above as we cross the bridge by bus. Then, we head down to the water's edge to see the powerful waters up close. The current varies with the tides, making every tour a unique experience.

    On the return journey, we show a short film about Saltstraumen. It offers an exciting glimpse of the current beneath the surface and explains the natural phenomenon in an accessible way.

    The tour features an audio guide available in seven languages: Norwegian, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Mandarin.
