Depart from Chicago early in the morning and head to the picturesque Windmill Island, where you will see century-old windmills and gardens that change with the seasons. If you are lucky, you may even encounter Dutch-style activities. Stroll through Dutch Village and tour this small town full of European style.

Check in at Saugatuck on the Michigan coast and feel the infinite charm of the lakeside town. Windmill Island has the world-famous “De Zwaan” (the swan), an authentic windmill (shipped from the Netherlands) and has over approximately 250 years’ worth of history. Have plenty of time to walk around the beautiful gardens located on the island.

In the afternoon, visit Holland, a city famous for its Dutch heritage. In the 19th century, a group of Dutch immigrants settled down here. Then, head to Saugatuck, a Michigan gem that fits the description of a “little beach town,” offering pristine shoreline, strolling the oval beach and enjoying the spring sea breeze.

On Butler Street in the city centre, taste unique local delicacies, take a leisurely tour of art galleries, and experience local customs.
