An excellent casa particular with 24/7 electricity

This is a lovely hostal, in a quiet street, near the centre of the city. The couple who run it speak good English (the husband particularly, as he is an engineer who once lived and worked in Canada) and are genuinely friendly and warm. Breakfast in the morning, in the little patio at the back, was the best I had in 4 weeks in Cuba. The room was comfortable and up to the standards of a European family-run hotel. Cienfuegos is affected by lengthy power cuts, but the hostal is not. As a rule, the power is on all the time. That is because the hostal is near a hospital. I still recommend having a portable, rechargeable lamp with you: the owner helped me to buy one in town (4,000 Cuban pesos). Internet access (WiFi) is a bit patchy, because the relay tower lies in an area that is affected by power cuts, but I still managed to check my emails and the news on my smartphone daily (usually, the window of opportunity was the morning, before going out). Overall, an excellent 'casa particular', with the owners who make you feel welcome and are very helpful.

It was a nice place but access was an issue for me. Due to the power outages in Trindad the owner locked the front doors early and did not provide a key. It did feel like a home stay with limited privacy. The owners were super nice and helpful

Cute property located on a very colourful and safe street. Very close to the viazul bus station and main walking street. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Room is clean and comfortable, and the view on terrace is amazing. One of the best stays I’ve had in Cuba. Only negative is wifi is weak.

I highly highly recommend staying here. The casa is located on a beautiful street with lots of art and the owners are so friendly and kind. They helped us navigate the city and gave us some amazing recommendations. The views from the terraces are incredible and the room is large, clean and very peaceful. Breakfast is also incredible !!

Superb Casa. The only place to stay in Cienfuegos. My room was clean snd comfortable and the Casa is in a good location. Close to the bus terminal and main prado. Mileidy and Armando were great hosts and Mileidy was so attetive and gave me the best breakfast i had jn Cuba. It even came with a dessert! Very highly recommended. Also there is a Husky Dog called Mio!

Eventhough it is a 20 min walk to the city centre and main landmarks, we were delighted to stay at Milady's place. She warmly welcomed us in her home and really made us feel like if it was ours. She is really lovely, caring and has a shining personality. She gave us thorough information about Cienfuegos and all its attractions and points of interest. The breakfast was finger lickin' good especially the home made cakes! You can be sure to have a great stay here.

Milady was truly a wonderful hostess. I stayed with my husband daughter and grandson. We had the triple room which was small but nice bedding, had own bathroom and very clean. The breakfast was additional but a lot of food and home made with love. You can walk everywhere there and we felt right at home. Milady was wonderful with our 11 month old grandson and spoke great English. I highly recommend!

Ich habe zwei Nächte im Hostal La Escala verbracht. Mileidy und Amando sind unglaublich freundliche und liebenswürdige Gastgeber. Ich habe mich sehr willkommen und zu Hause gefühlt. Das Zimmer hat alles, was ein Zimmer braucht, das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Ich würde immer wieder hier herkommen, wenn ich in Cienfuegos bin. Danke für alles.
