Lovely Country Inn

Pros: Everything, it certainly met with and exceeded expectations.
Cons: Can't think of anything I would change.
Location: Plenty of walks on to the Downs close by. About 7 miles from Chichester and all its attractions. Close to the south coast, Arundel etc.
A lovely, old country inn that has all the original features but has been well maintained. The garden at the back is really lovely with stunning views across the Downs. The staff are really helpful and friendly and the food is really good with a big choice, they must have a very good chef. We stayed in one of the twin rooms which was beautifully decorated in grey and white. Plenty of drawer space, wardrobe, mirrors etc. Tea, coffee, biscuits, bottles water provided daily. Hairdryer and extra heating if required. The en suite shower room was fairly large with electric shower and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided and clean towels every day. All in all it was a pleasure staying there.

Stunning location, character pub, friendly

Pros: Location, scenery, character. Plenty of teabags and milk provided in the room. Didnt feel the need to find somewhere else to eat for a 2 night stay.
Cons: "hotel reception", on arriving mid afternoon, pub is open & busy you basically have to queue at the bar to check in & when there is just 1 staff...
Location: South Downs walking, West Dean Gardens, Weald & Downland open air museum, NT properties
Two night stay, lucky with fabulous weather so the garden backing onto beautiful open fields and hillside was well used. Some standard pub grub and some more adventurous fare available, even though they seemed very busy there was not a long wait for the food. Room was a decent size, great shower! Plenty of supplies for tea/coffee in the room. The building is very characterful and charming. Staff friendly.
