If you are looking for a great location with a view (the crooked houses are directly out the window across the canal), then this is your place. HOWEVER, the deferred maintenance on this place is overwhelming...worn carpet, sconces hardly hanging from the wall at bedside, rotten wood at the windows, hardware missing from worn out furniture... Let's just say that the pictures look much better than the actual accommodations we experienced. The manager on duty was friendly when he was there.

The property is in a great location but the smell was awful. It smelled like a sewer our entire stay and the room was incredibly cramped. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location, friendly & helpful staff. Hotel is very old, tired, very small dated rooms. No air conditioning, overhead light in bedroom was like a stadium floodlight alternative was 2 very small wall lights by the bed. The pictures posted on your site are very deceiving.

Clean traditional hotel, super central hotel

Such a lovely old traditional hotel in a brilliant central location for exploring the city centre. We walked from main station in 20 mins, check in was very efficient and the room had a gorgeous view over the River Amstel. Bars and restaurants are all around the corners from here and felt very safe walking around at night. Rooms were very clean and warm as we stayed in February. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again if we return.

Charming small hotel with friendly staff. Not a large anonymous 'chain' type hotel, nor hyper-luxurious, but rather a guest house feel. The room was clean, stay was comfortable, location excellent. Good for the price, I would stay again.
