Reservation for 4 nights. The room was on the 2nd floor facing the street. Very nice view of children's park and lots of trees. Quiet during the week. The breakfast was great- lots of options. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. The Museumplein station, Van Gogh museum, Stedelijk Museum and both Blushing (great for breakfast & lunch) and The Burger Room (fantastic burgers) were within a 3 minute walk. The room was very large and comfortable and there was a coffee maker and kettle in the room with coffee pods & tea. Stairs to get into hotel, but an elevator once inside. Highly recommend.

This was a great hotel i a perfect location cloae to many attractions and shopping. The staff at front desk, also in the kitchen were truly great. The hotel is a old boutique hotel, so rooms are small and not air-conditioned, but this is part of the charm. There are steep stairs, a small lift tonhelp with luggage. Overall i would recommend for anyone.

Very nice, clean and cute hotel. Right across from the Van Gogh museum, a huge park and the tram to Central Amsterdam. The staff was very kind and helpful and I loved that you can rent a bike for the day from the Hotel.

Overall this is a great hotel if you don’t want to be in the middle of all the tourist attractions and crowd. Neighborhood gets very quiet at night but you’ll still feel extremely safe. Rooms are rather small but this is not a newly build hotel so pretty common. Be prepared not to have AC during hot summer months though. Love the stay and would recommend

The location was outstanding. Lovely neighborhood for exploring. A short walk to the wonderful Vondel Park and the biggest museums. Also close to several tram lines. It was great to have the bathroom in the room with a good shower. The breakfast was pretty basic. Anyone staying here should note that it has STEEP stairs. Just to get into the lobby there are 6 steep stairs and the interior stairs were narrow and STEEP. There is a traditional (very small and slow) elevator. Our main concern was lack of AC during a couple of HOT days. It was difficult to open the large window so the room was extremely stuffy. Hard to sleep. It should be noted that there is no staff in the building overnight. That might be a concern to some.

It was a really nice hotel — truly a home away from home. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the entire hotel was very clean. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the museums. I highly recommend adding breakfast to your stay — be sure to try the crêpes, they were delicious!

We loves this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and attractive. The bed was so comfortable! It was located in a quiet neighborhood close to public transportation and things to do. Would definitely stay here again.

Such a nice location to explore, central but quiet and comfortable. Staff was helpful. We didn’t have breakfast there but it smelled lovely. No hesitation at all in recommending, especially if you want to enjoy Amsterdam from a calm, less crowded spot.

The desk agents were very helpful and pleasant. The room was surprisingly large. It does have an elevator although very small and typical for a building that is old and retrofitted to a hotel. It is very convenient to the surface tram. Bit of noise coming from the school yard across the street but we were gone all day so it didn’t bother us except for the day we sleeted in to recover from jet leg. I would stay again.

Really?

When you pay €360+ for a room, how much of that should be for a fully-functioning bathroom? I’d say at least 1/3. So, for my stay last weekend, there wasn’t a drop of hot water, not even tepid. A terse apology at ‘reception’ was all that was offered, no suggestion of any kind of partial refund, or maybe the breakfast thrown in as a gesture. Spending the entire day un-washed made for a disappointing experience. The positives now: position couldn’t be better (five minutes from Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and the Concertgebouw, not to mention Amsterdam’s smartest shopping street. The staff is very friendly, the woman who oversees breakfast (which was very good) was super-nice. The rooms are slightly old-fashioned, but clean and spacious. But no water …
