Villa La Ruga Dream!

Look no further. This Lake Como villa was a dream! Host, Francesco’s hospitality was above and beyond! The villa is everything the photos show & more! The views are spectacular & town of Argegno is so quaint! Umberto prepared the most delicious birthday dinner with the help of Claudio. Must do! Paolo’s boat tour of the lake was so wonderful, with stops at Bellagio & Varenna! We can’t wait for our return! Ciao Francesco, until next time!!

Amazing Villa to see Lake Como from

This was a great place to stay. The property on the lake is amazing. Francesco is a wonderful host. Easy to work with ..can arrange everything from a chef, boat trips, tours to St. Moritz ...and event dinner at his favorite restaurant in Aregano. Can't say enough about this Villa. We had (3) couples and so much more enjoyable than being in a hotel.

Superb Vacation Experience

My siblings and their spouses (total of 8) stayed at this beautiful villa. I can't say enough nice things about this villa but importantly, Francesco made our visit exceptional! He became our 'go to' person for everything - including transportation throughout Lake Cuomo, to/from airports and a personal boat tour on the lake on his vintage boat. We did the boat tour the next day after arrival and became quite familiar with the towns we wanted to go visit. One day, after a long day of touring one of the quaint villages, Chef Umberto came to the villa and had a delicious dinner ready for us. This home is worth your while. We were not disappointed. Thank you, Francesco!!

Just amazing

Amazing family vacation in charming town on lake como!

We can’t say enough good things about this house and the host! It’s the perfect house for a family with young adult children and their significant others. The chef made a memorable first night with an elaborate dinner on the patio overlooking the lake. Francesco made sure we had everything we needed and even bought food for our first breakfast. His boat tour of the lake and knowledge of the area were highlights! I would recoimend this property without hesitation!

Amazing House

Dream property, excellent location!! Everything is as described and even better. Bacci ball in the yard and ping pong in the basement! Our boys had so much fun playing. Host is amazing. Responds to everything promptly, very helpful in planning. We ended up having two dinners prepared by his personal chef! So much delicious food and lovely people. The kitchen/frig was stocked with snacks and breakfast food to hold us over for the entire stay. Lovely place to relax and enjoy the view. Easy access to the town and ferry. We would stay here again if back in Como! Wine cellar was also fun to explore and find some delicious wines to try.

Best VRBO stay ever

First, I’d like to say how much we enjoyed getting to know Francesco. He’s the best host you could hope for. A very positive, bright man who set the tone for the stay. He helped arrange for the private chef, Umberto, who catered to everyone’s request and dietary need. Francesco came the next morning with Cornetti for our family and friends to enjoy.The property is impeccable with perfectly groomed lawns, amazing views, and a great location within walking distance to the local town of Argegno. We drove Francesco’s boat around the lake to see all of the sights, including Varenna, Bellagio, and the beautiful Villas surrounding the area.Would visit again - 6 out of 5 stars.

Scenic, sparkling, SPECTACULAR!

I dreamed of staying at this villa for two years and brought three friends here to celebrate my retirement. The home, property and panoramic views are unique and stunning and surpassed all expectations.The host, Francesco, and his assistant, Chica, respond quickly to questions and requests. We took a beautiful lake tour in Francesco’s boat. I hope to return some day!

Breathtaking Views

Our stay in this house was wonderful. Francesco, the owner, is a dynamic and warm person who is easy to deal with and always available if you need him. He helped us with dinner reservations, cabs and connected us to the most amazing tour guide in Milan. He provided a chef for breakfasts and for several dinners. He sent us to an amazing winery that was near the Swiss border. Anything we needed was addressed. The house is beautiful. The setting is amazing! There were 6 of us and there was room to spread out and just enjoy the glorious views. The house is located on the lake which means you have to walk down a long steep driveway to get in or out. The town is not far and the ferry is right there but the walk into town is a bit tricky because the roads are narrow and while they have a walking path, it is a bit hairy and we were all "senior citizens."And Francesco did help with that too. We loved our time there and recommend it highly!

Incredible!

Francesco’s property was amazing. The views from every room were spectacular. Francesco was the best host we have ever had at a VRBO. He took us on a 6-hour tour of the lake in his boat, which was very comfortable. We also had his chef come in one evening to cook for us. Ample amount of food was amazing. I highly recommend both the boat and chef…well worth it! Francesco also came through with a driver one day when we had our driver cancel. We could not have had a better stay! If you are on the fence, book it!

Wonderful rental and host

Family of 7 adults stayed for 3 days. The house was exactly as posted. Beautiful, clean and perfect. Francesco is a great host and person. Always smiling and helpful and accommodating. I could not imagine staying anywhere else while in Como. We hope to come back again. You must stay here if you are traveling to Como. Use Francesco private chef at the house and boat taxi. It made for the most memorable vacation and experience for our family.

Wonderful time at a beautiful villa!!

My family and I stayed at Francesco Villa and it was truly amazing. The place itself is breathtaking on the lake and it was absolutely spotless. We had all the amenities we needed and Francesco was an incredible host He got reservations for us at various restaurants and we also did a day with his boat which he was our skipper . He was so informative of Lake Como and we had a wonderful time. We truly can not say enough about his place. Absolutely beautiful. We hope to be back again

The best!

We are six friends traveling together. This, by far, has been the best house we have ever stayed in. Francesco surpassed all of our expectations. We loved him and the villa. Chica also helped us on a daily basis with any questions. I highly recommend taking a boat tour early in your stay with Francesco. He will inform you about the towns, the ferries, restaurants, the lakeside villas. Chef Umberto’s meal was fabulous. We could not ask for more. Francesco will see to your every need. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you Francesco!

Experience of a lifetime

We spent a week staying at Villa Laruga, Argegno, on Lake Como. The Villa is only approximately 1.2 km walk from the Argegno, where there is a ferry stop and restaurants. From here we caught ferries around the lake to various villages and gardens, they were beautiful. However, the highlight of our stay was the villa with its beautiful garden, set right on the lake & constantly changing vistas over the lake. How often do you get to stay in a villa on Lake Como? Out of the seven days we spent half the time just staying at the villa. We read, sketched, listen to music, drank Bellinis and even went for a swim in the 17° lake. The host, Francesco, could not have been more obliging. He was always available on WhatsApp and would turn up if necessary with a big smile on his face. I could only say, this was an experience of a lifetime.

We had the most incredible week with our family of 7 adults at Francesco’s Villa La Ruga directly on Lake Como. We enjoyed so many things about the house including morning coffee on the patio, evening bocce tournaments, a wonderful dinner cooked by Chef Umberto, a wonderful boat tour of Lake Como with Francesco, and much more. Francesco is an incredible host. He even provided some groceries to start our week along with pastries on the first morning. Wonderful!

Would stay here again and again!

Spectacular lakefront villa! Convenient to everything while in a peaceful, local town. Spotless and comfortable, with gorgeous grounds perfect for hanging out and playing games (baci ball and ping pong!) What especially sets this property apart is the host, Francesco. Francesco was available at all times to help with transportation, logistics, and reservations. He even offers tours of the lake on his gorgeous boat (highly recommend). This architecturally interesting villa and experience is a MUST in Como! Thank you for everything, Francesco!!

We enjoyed a six night family and friends vacation. We especially enjoyed Francesco’s gracious hospitality and sparkling personality. Francesco showed us around Lake Como on his boat, and was very helpful in making other reservations and arrangements. The property was spectacular with an expensive lake front. We look forward to our next visit.

Mervelous villa

The villa is fantastic and Francesco very kindness. The day with him on the lake was great. He took the time to explain us all the villas strories. What is better to discover all of this splendors by boat !

Beautiful, quiet Como

Our ten day stay began with the wonderful meeting of Francesco, our host. He is truly that as he takes care of you like you are his family. Anything we asked, he provided with ease. We enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by the chef and served impeccably. It was my husband’s birthday dinner and we had a cake and sparklers!! Beautiful location offering village charm with full access to the other lake locations. Should we decide to visit Como again we would choose the Villa again.

FABULOUS VILLA ON Lake Como

We had a wonderful visit to Lake Como. The views from the villa are breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed the patio from the first cup of coffee in the morning to dining al fresco in the evening. We took a tour of Lake Como with Francesco who has lived in the area his whole life and took the ferry to visit Bellagio and Varenna. The bedrooms and living room were very comfortable and there is a game area downstairs. We travel as a family every other year and everyone agreed that the villa was the nicest place that we have ever stayed. Francesco was very helpful and had coffee and snacks ready for us. We would love to go again!

From before you arrive, you know this is going to be something special. Francesco displays a master class in hosting with a Villa that is second to none. Beautifully presented, clean, tidy, activities and a sneaky little wine cellar to boot. Magnificent location, easy to get around. To say it is perfect is an understatement

Simply Perfect!

To be honest, we think this place was better than the pictures (and the pictures looked pretty good). It was simply perfect for our family holiday (8 people including 2 kids) and we can't imagine a better place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Como. The house and gardens had so much space, and was so comfortable, we didn't really want to leave. Bedrooms & Bathrooms really well laid out. The lounge and dining room had heaps of light and opened up with incredible views of the lake. Our favourite parts were afternoon games of Bocce with food & drinks at the outside table; jumping into the Lake from our deck; table tennis battles; an evening birthday dinner under the stars. Thank you Francesco for a perfect holiday. We hope to return again one day!
