A lovely hotel in a cosy nook. 14th century walls blend in with modern decor. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the restaurant served the best soup ever. Highly recommended, as long as you don't mind the absence of a lift.

A Gem in Arles

This is an exceptional property in every way. I will mention the only drawback up front - no elevators and some long staircases. These were no concern to me but some might need to consider that. Otherwise, a gem. You are in a building that includes elements nearly 1000 years old but the reasonably spacious rooms have all the mod cons efficiently built in. The location is superb and the staff are wonderful. The exterior patio offered grand views - as did my room - and everything about the place made it a great home away from home. I did not have breakfast but staff went out of their way to ensure I was properly caffeinated before I went out street climbing - which, by the way, is what you DO in Arles! A strong recommendation!!

Relaxed vibe

Friendly welcome followed by a thorough explanation how all the gadgets worked in our room which was very professional The hotel has a low key relaxed vibe that compliments the wacky design beautifully and the staff are all helpful . Bed very comfortable. Good breakfast with excellent coffee not filter coffee thankfully We ate tapas style supper from the small menu in the courtyard ,an oasis of calm in a busy city. The service was excellent. Wine local and reasonable price All in all a memorable stay. Thankyou

Staff extremely helpful when spouse had a slight injury at another establishment in town. They also did her laundry for free. Large rooms, bathrooms and shower with very artful rooms. Staff could not be friendlier our entire stay. Highly recommend...also great location.

Great base for Camargue and surrounding area

Amazing modern but retro hotel on the inside but an unassuming typical Arles building on the outside. Nice spacious rooms.....Loved it. Only negative was breakfast which was a bit sketchy so probably worth a walk into town for something better. There was also ample storage for our 4 bicycles. Not sure about car parking as the hotel is in a traffic free area. Think there were car parks about 2 mins walk away though.

We came to Arles for the feria ( toros!) Le Cloitre is close to everything we wished to see and do. Lovely people, sweet patio for coffees , little bar with atmosphere, great comfort in our large room. Only coffee facilities missing in room. A real find, we will return and recommend.

We loved our stay here - the hotel design is so charming. Our room was great and the common spaces are very comfortable, particularly the outside cafe. Also, we had the breakfast and it was delicious. One note is that, like many hotels, this one does not have A/C. This was not an issue for us, but wanted to flag it.

Hotel du Cloitre is by all accounts lovely. . .until you turn in for the night. I've never had such a noisy hotel room. The "terrace bar" was directly outside my room and believe me when I tell you it is a very lively bar. It was so hard to sleep I was sure my vacation was going to be ruined. I asked the staff to move me and they were able to accommodate (which was great). The hotel is clean and adorable, but don't stay there if a good night's sleep is important to you.

Heart of arles

There is no elevator, and many steps to climb-- in my case, I counted 54 steps, so anyone with health limitations should be aware of this. The room was ultra modern, and quiet, and the location is ideal for those wishing to stay in the heart of Arles and close to Roman sites. For those walking from the train station, allow about 20 minutes.

Perfect!

Absolutely wonderful small hotel tucked into the center of the old city. Walk up a narrow winding street to arrive at the entrance to the beautiful cloister and this gem of a hotel. Renovation has been done with scrupulous sensibility; somehow comfortable and spare/light drenched at the same time. Couldn’t have been nicer to stay here. Staff was lovely as well.

Classic Charm and Ambience in the heart of Arles
