Bien situé!

Bel hôtel, bien situé dans la ville, confortable. Nous avons eu une toute petite chambre au 3e étage, c’était plutôt bruyant avec le bar juste en haut. I would not recommend staying at the NLH Monastiraki. We arrived at just after 11 am had to wait 4 hours to check in, leaving our luggage in a crowded lobby, not in a secure storage area, even though our room was ready before 3 pm. The front desk staff did not bother to alert us that it was ready before 3 pm. When we checked into our room it smelled terribly of cigarette smoke even though the hotel is a non-smoking hotel. Why did housekeeping not remedy that before us checking in?!? They did not give us another room claiming it was all full and that the cigarette smoke was coming from the street below (not true). Even though we were 3 people in the room they only gave us one card and refused to give us one more despite repeated requests claiming they were all out. Our beds had no blanket or duvet on them, just a simple sheet. Breakfast was self service with tea and coffee from a vending machine and the hot food terribly overcooked. On our checkout day the elevator was out of order to we had to carry our luggage down two flights of steps without any assistance. This is is more like a nicely designed hostel and not a properly run hotel. Service and management is very poor for what it charges which is way more than what I paid at an another l4 star hotel in Athens. I would NOT recommend staying here.

The staff was friendly and helpful - the location was walking distance to everything.I highly recommend the rooftop bar. The view is stunning of the Parthenon at night. It was my birthday and the bartender (Armenian) sorry can not recall his name went about and beyond to play the the birthday song over the speaker and made me a special drink since they did not have cake offer.

It definitely didn't feel 4 star as others have commented. Clean with a very nice front desk staff and convenient location walkable to many sites and areas. We didn't get the breakfast--there are several bakery/coffee shops on the block. The room was very cold which is good for summer but at night it would have been nice to have been provided a light duvet or blanket vs just a thin sheet. They didn't restock toiletries or water so we almost ran out of toilet paper.

Great property that was clean and welcoming. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly both at reception and in the breakfast area. The rooftop bar was beautiful but only open from 6pm and not on mondays. Would be a great spot to read and chill out during the day.

Our room was fantastic, spacious and very clean and the staff were friendly. We enjoyed drinks at the roof top bar most evenings and the staff were great at remembering you and the orders. (Perfect old fashioneds btw) The location was absolutely perfect, easy and quick walk to dining options and attractions - you can't hear the traffic from the main road. There's supermarkets and pastry shops within 2mins and the Acropolis is only a 20min walk. I'd stay here again if I was to return to Athens.

The room was large enough and quit. To many windows and hard to block out the morning light. I did not like that there was no ice machine. Breakfast was good but really need a microwave in that area, as when you get your food it is cold. The young guy that ran the breakfast was always so helpful and tried to please when ever he could. We recommend a different place to stay. The bathroom was quite horrible. Whenever someone took a shower, the entire bathroom floor would be wet. No hair blow dryer, no iron. Did not tell us from beforehand that the rooftop bar would be closed or that they are going through renovations, or else we would have booked somewhere else. Unfriendly staff at the front desk.

First time in Athens Greece

The location is very convenient. The reception Miss Nina and her colleagues are helpful when we need taxis, information on the places we want to visit. It would be perfect if bottle water could be offered complimentary during our five nights stay at the hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay as hotel was clean and appeared to be recently renovated.
