I am a Hilton Honors member who travels frequently for both business and leisure. I rarely stay outside of the Hilton brand, but on this occasion, I booked through Expedia due to a special promotion and decided to try Wyndham’s Courtland Grand Hotel in Atlanta. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had, and I will not be returning.
From the moment I arrived, the experience was unacceptable. The exterior felt unsafe, with homeless individuals not only in the street but also in the parking lot and directly in front of the hotel entrance, approaching guests for money. Security staff were present but did nothing, as though this was a routine occurrence.
Inside the hotel, the problems continued. I attempted multiple times to contact the front desk regarding the condition of my room, but no one ever answered the phone. For clarity, here is a list of the issues I encountered during my stay in Room 729:
* Bathroom sink did not drain.
* Shower was stuck on one setting and could not be adjusted.
* No shower liner provided; only a thin, stained cloth curtain.
* No floor towel/mat supplied.
* Curtains lacked a sheer liner, so sunlight could not be let in without fully exposexposing the room.
Bathtub and bathroom walls were visibly dirty.
Refrigerator was filthy.
Pool area was poorly maintained, with discolored water and general neglect.
Cushions in the poolside were stained, and in disrepair.
Repeated calls to the front desk useless
