Atlantic Beach, NC. Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this cedar shake, all-wood interior, fully furnished, 4 bedroom/ 4.5 bath beach house. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the others are furnished with a queen-sized bed, 2 twin beds and an extra large bedroom featuring 2 doubles. The house sleeps 8-10 comfortably. The indoor spaces feature original artwork, unique furnishings, and the kitchen is equipped with almost new appliances and cookware. Situated on the second row, the beach is just steps away. On the spacious front porch, guests can enjoy ocean views, cool breezes and lovely sunsets. And the best nap/ book reading in the world is to be found while lounging on the front porch hanging bed. There is also a large side screened porch, back deck & outdoor shower.

When not on the wide, soft sand beach (less than a three-minute walk), enjoy nearby attractions such as biking in various parts of Bogue Island, touring historic Fort Macon State Park, taking boat excursions (or your own boat) to Cape Lookout National Seashore and Lighthouse and other nearby islands, seeing weekly concerts at Fort Macon, visiting the colonial town of Beaufort and its waterfront scenery and restaurants, the NC Aquarium, and Morehead City restaurants and nightlife, savoring a Sunset drink at the bar located at the end of the nearby Oceana Fishing Pier which gives a panoramic view of the coastline, or water activities including kayaking, canoeing, and surfing.

The water remains warm enough for swimming well after Labor Day so consider a long-weekend as fall begins. In winter, enjoy seeing the sun set directly over the Atlantic Ocean due to the island's orientation along the coast and the location of the sun. A sight to see!

Labor Day Beach Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Surf Shack. The house is located on a quiet street just steps away from a beach access. The front porch was great for midday naps on the swing and enjoying the sunset. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you might need for making family meals. This house was perfect for our family. Loved the location and everyone had a private retreat. Plenty of room and every space was cozy and comfortable. The beach on this part of the island is wide & beautiful. The ocean views from the house were better than expected. We loved the big front porch! Played cards and games, cooked, enjoyed the swings. The house is awesome! Totally clean, nicely decorated, beds were very comfortable and was completely set up for an out of town family or group to come in and relax. Every detail of the house and how it was set up was well thought out, even down to the big basket of drink koozies. The common areas of the house were very conducive for gathering, relaxing and enjoying food and conversation. We found ourselves spending every evening sitting on the front porch enjoying the weather and company. The access to the beach was great (right across the street) and a big plus for our group.

I actually wanted a house right on the water and from the picture that I saw the water. I assume that the house was directly on the water or not a roll of houses in between but because it rained the whole weekend I was there. It really didn’t matter. The house was beautiful. Everything was clean. I just wish I could have text the host instead of having to go on the verbal site and message every time I’m not computer savvy so it would take me a few minutes to get to the spot that I needed to message her.

Family Wedding Weekend - Oct 6-9 2023

This property is as gorgeous and comfortable as the pictures show. It truly has an upscale, classic beach feel. There are three ensuites – the bedroom on the first floor can be converted to an ensuite using the pocket doors. It's not oceanfront but does have an ocean view from the front porch. There is plenty of parking – which seems to be at a premium in this neighborhood. Hannah, the owner, was overseas during our stay but was very proactive, making the check-in process extraordinarily easy. She was just a text away if there were any problems - which there wasn't. I highly recommend staying there.

Fabulous house for a family get together!

We live in Morehead City in a very small home. We needed a large space for our four grown children, spouses and grandchild to come and vacation with us over the new year. This large, classic beach house has timeless charm and warmth, and everyone loved it. There was plenty of room, inside and outside, and privacy for everyone. An open floor plan allowed us to all be together, even while cooking meals. Each couple had their own bathroom and private space and surprisingly there were some good ocean views. Everything was tastefully furnished in a nautical, shabby chic look, and I wish my house looked like this. There are also wonderful outdoor porches, and it’s just a short walk to the beach. We will definitely be back to rent this house again for our family.

Beautiful home

My family and I stayed in this lovely home this past weekend. We loved everything about the house. The porches are amazing, we ate diner on the screened in porch and drank our coffee on the front porch each morning. Wonderful Beach Property

This is a wonderful beach property that is very close to water but also is convenient to grocery stores and other shopping. The home is large and spacious which gave us plenty of room to spread out. The property does have several sets of stairs but that is well documented in the property pictures. We loved the property and would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Atlantic Beach.

Wonderful stay

This house is the perfect vacation place and provides great amenities. The kitchen is well stocked and the house is spacious and clean. The front porch is the perfect place for morning coffee or afternoon drinks. Enjoyed the bikes and beach chairs as well along with the porch swinging bed. Great for naps.
