Brilliant location.

Great location, couldn't have been any more central to everything. Within walking distance to the gothic quarter, La Ramblas etc... Room was ideal for three of us, warm, clean and comfortable. Reception staff were pleasant and very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Catalunya. Its location is central to the pedestrian street Avingula Port San Angel. It is 5 minutes walk to Cathedral de Barcelona and Plaza Catalunya in the other direction. Despite its size, the hotel has an elevator and the rooms are moderate size with clean updated bathrooms. Housekeeping is excellent and staff are helpful and friendly.

Small and quaint comfortable place to stay in a great location in the gothic quarter. Provided luggage storage while I roamed the city on my check out day. Single room is very small but fine for just myself.

I was less than pleased with Hotel Catalunya. As I checked in, I was barely greeted by the hotel staff and felt like it was simply a transaction instead of a welcoming hello. The hotel itself does not boast large rooms, and though I booked a double bed, was only given a single bed. On top of that, I was denied having a guest. The staff literally denied me a guest as if this was a university dormitory. ???? I am a paying customer, how are they going to tell me that I can’t have a guest to my room? It was absurd. None of the staff were friendly, accommodations were not as it seemed, and I was overall very unimpressed. I would not recommend this hotel to others especially since there are so many other hotels in the area for similar prices and probably much better service.
