The hallways and room smelled of mold. We informed the hotel after our first night and they offered us a replacement room but it would only be available our third day. Over our second night the smell in the room improved significantly so we decided to stay in the room. We had to keep the bathroom door closed since we figured the smell comes from there ( either the sewage or moisture) since there isn’t proper ventilation. The hall way of our floor smelled very mildly throughout, you could clearly see they have water issues when looking at the corners of the floors. Other than that we liked the location although it was loud since it’s on the street.

DO NOT STAY HERE. They advertised on Expedia as having air conditioning, laundry facilities and also had laundry service listed seperately, and WiFi. It was so hot in the room and when asked where the a/c was to turn on, they stated, they only have heat and offered a fan. When I asked where the laundry facilities were, they argued they did have laundry facilities, but that you pay for the laundry service ($10 for pants/$5 for underwear, etc). I showed them Expedia website and they said it was a "language barrier". WiFi did not work in my room and neither did the option to watch Netflix. There was mold on the tile and ceiling across the entire bathroom and ants in the bathroom as well. I spoke w/the manager who stated they could not give me a credit right then and there and that Expedia would have to since I booked through them. Of course, when I complained to Expedia and they called the hotel after I was home, they refused to give me a credit as they stated they would when I brought all these things up. I also asked for hypoallergenic sheets and they stated they cannot accommodate that request as they follow the laws in Spain for the type of sheets they provide. Very disappointed. I called Expedia to ge them to change the "amenities" that are listed, however, It appears they first need to reach out to the hotel and they have to agree. I could have stayed in so many other hotels for > $700 cheaper, I will not stay here again. They should be ashamed of their actions.

The hotel is in a nice and convenient spot in the centre of Barcelona without having too much disruption from outside. Inside the property does feel a little dated and you do get a fair bit of noise through from other rooms.

I’ve stayed here many, many times before and it feels like home each time I return. The sun terrace with the medium sized swimming pool attracted me in the first instance it’s a nice convenient area to relax in the sun after a day strolling around the city. A word of warning, in Barcelona the rubbish/recycling bins are emptied daily, but very early in the morning so I’d definitely advise not to stay in one of the front rooms in the hotel…..the back rooms aren’t much better but not quite so noisy…..also stay away from the lift shafts as the lifts make a dinging sound every time that land at the floor. Otherwise it’s difficult to want for more….and the breakfasts are fabulous….a great way to start the day 😊

Nice place for the price.

We enjoyed the hotel and it was a great location. The room itself was a little tired - just some little bits of wear and tear, but still a nice place. The swimming pool wasn’t very clean. That could be down to the fact it was freezing and they thought nobody would use it. We were woken up on 2 occasions by the bin lorry’s and like 3am on a Saturday morning. That seems like a wild time? Maybe that can’t be helped but it ruined my sleep those 2 nights.
