The fenced-in yard was good for our dog. Communication with the owner was excellent. The house is nice, and the yard is neat. There was plenty of room to park on the gravel driveway. Be sure to bring a sleep mask if you like to sleep in a dark room because the plastic miniblinds let in a lot of light from the nearby streetlight. The house is in a fairly busy neighborhood. We highly recommend The Char for a nice meal. It's only 6 minutes away. The menu is a bit pricey, but it is definitely worth it!

Nice little house in a working neighborhood not far from dowtown. Quiet, clean, good kitchen. We ha d fun in antique and fabric stores. Good restaurants.Could use a small table and working light for suitcase in 2nd bedroom, and hand rail in or next to tub.

Stayed at this property for 1 night. The property has been completely updated and is more spacious than it looks in the pictures. We appreciated the large, fenced in backyard for our dog. The host was very helpful and responded quickly to all my questions.

Very responsive host, and a cute clean home! Others have mentioned the large floor heating vent. While a little inconvenient, this didn’t bother me at all, just adds to the charm of an older (but nicely renovated) house. My dog navigated around it fine and seemed to give it a wide berth intuitively, so that was not an issue. The large fenced yard was great, and I would definitely stay here again if ever in the area!

Nicely remolded. We had an issues caused by us. The owner was there to help out within an hour. If you stay there do not lock the door lock. It’s not just a pass through knob. We locked it and of course the code meant nothing at that point. Like o said great response and we moved right along. We will stay there again

Perfect Home for the night

Extremely clean home. Everything was operational. We were there just for the night, so we didn't need to use anything in the kitchen but the refrigerator. But everything was there. Great communication from the owner. Kudos to whoever cleans this home -- it was spotless.

Cozy house

Perfectly cozy. Smaller house but it was all my husband and I needed. The house has a very nice remodel. Close to everything in Beckley and state parks. Would stay there again.

Comfortable, Quiet, & Convenient

We were stopping in the area to visit New River Gorge on the way to visiting our son in North Carolina. The house was conveniently located, within 30 minutes of the Canyon Rim Visitor Center and hikes we planned for the afternoon, 15 minutes from the Grandview Visitor Center we planned to visit on our way out the next morning. It was also close enough to a few restaurants, and there is a Dollar General at the end of the street. The neighborhood is quiet, and close enough to attractions and restaurants, but away from busy touristy areas.The house was just as described, and has been nicely refreshed; we would stay here again. We had no problem finding the house, but note that if using Apple maps, it will actually take you past the driveway, so be sure to drive slowly and keep an eye out for the side-view of the house as shown in the photos above.

Pleasant, except for floor heat hazard

The house is nice, great yard, pleasant place to stay… except there is an old furnace that heats through a big floor vent in a main walking area between the bedrooms and bathroom that gets REALLY hot. Luckily my husband noticed it before our 1yo did. It was a big concern for us with a little one. We had to make a barricade to try to prevent our child from getting burned. It is also really loud at night. We had to keep the bedroom doors open to let the heat in. It’s fine for adults but not ideal for families with small children or pets.
