A truly excellent hotel

This hotel is in an ideal location for anyone wanting to visit Belfast city centre - the Grand Central train station is within a short walk. All of the staff were extremely courteous and attentive - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated. The attention to detail is superb. The room was supplied with every you could possibly need - even ear plugs and playing cards were provided. We didn’t stay for dinner so we are unable to comment on this but if it was anything like the breakfast it will not disappoint. The hot food choices at breakfast were many and varied, with cold options also available. We had a couple of cocktails in the hotel bar and they too were of a very high quality. We had absolutely no negative experiences staying at this hotel. We will definitely be back.

Booked over a week and a half in advance - have stayed here multiple times before - when we arrived, the room we were given was akin to a jail cell - concrete brick wall to stare at outside for £240 pounds worth... Could of got a better view staying in an ibis hotel - clearly gave away our good room to someone else - pro tip - don't let someone pay almost £250 pounds to stare at a concrete wall in a 5 star hotel - considering we have stayed there multiple times a little loyalty would have been nice - shower amenities were not changed either but that's a separate issue

The staff at The Fitzwilliam were so friendly and welcoming. I was traveling alone and I felt very safe there. Walkable from the train and central Belfast. The bellman/concierge staff were extremely helpful. Lovely lobby, great breakfast and bar where I had early dinners during my stay. Highly recommend!

Overall our experience was excellent. Nice hotel and lovely staff. What let us down at the end was the breakfast on the last day; waited nearly an hour for a bagel on what seemed like a relatively quiet morning. This would lose a star normally, but the extra touches here and there, plus letting us check in early, are enough to keep this to five.
