The staff was not the problem, they were courteous.
The rooms did not give you the comfort of being clean.
There were dirty sheets.
The bathroom had scam scale on the walls, and the room had a misty moldy smell.

Room not hovered , sand and glitter on floor in bedroom area , bathroom floor had workboot footprints , no bodywash or shower gel , this was empty , tea coffee not restocked .
We have stayed numerous times before and never experienced this . Are standards failing ?
Room quality was same as usual - good, and bed comfortable.
I was woken at 2330 by someone trying to gain access to my room whilst I was asleep. The door mechanism was tried multiple times (I’ve been there, too!) before the person went away, presumably back to the desk. This can happen to anyone.
However, they came back and the card had been re-coded, so they opened my door, though luckily I had hastily dressed and put the security chain across on the inside. This is what I take issue with - I was pretty annoyed that the desk had apparently recoded the card with disregard for the room occupancy! It was a family room, with inter-access door to the next room, so just suppose that a family had taken both rooms and installed their children in that room…
When I took this up with the desk early the next morning, the receptionist simply said that they suffered an IT outage. No further explanation and just a simple “sorry, everything went down.”
They didn’t acknowledge my point of view at all and it concerns me that protocols weren’t followed properly (surely??)
