The Hatch Farm is an off-grid riverfront working farm with plenty to offer from interacting with the friendly animals, casting your line, launching your boat from our rustic boat ramp, using our kayaks in the saltwater river, or warming your toes by the campfire in the evenings as you relax, gaze at the stars & roast a marshmallow.
We have pigs, sheep, goats, horses, cows, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, peacocks, guinea pigs, bunnies, dogs & nursery.

• Set on a working farm: There is always something interesting happening somewhere on the 150 acres; You are free to sit back and relax in your own space or get involved and get your hands dirty, whichever takes your fancy. If there has been recent rain, please bring your gumboots to explore the full farm!
• Boat Ramp: Have full access to the saltwater Maria River with our rustic boat ramp and sandy surrounds —perfect for launching your boat or dipping your toes!
• Kayaking: Explore the river and get a different view of the surrounds by paddling around Boomerang Island on our free to use kayaks and provided life jackets.
• Catch your Dinner: The river carries a range of saltwater fish and crabs, and many rave about the fishing spot we have here! Cast from the riverbank, out on the kayak, or from your boat, there is opportunity for everyone to have a go (BYO gear, bait available for purchase onsite).
• Campfire by the River: Ready for star-lit stories and marshmallow toasting, down by the river’s edge.
The Animals:

• Meet your new farm friends: cows, goats, sheep, pigs, miniature horses, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, peacocks, bunnies, guinea pigs, and adorable dogs—always ready to greet new guests. Many of the farm animals are rescues who enjoy their new relaxed life. Farm fresh eggs are available for purchase.
• There is usually always a new baby to see on your self-led farm adventures through our dedicated animal nursery where everyone can have the chance to cuddle a farm animal. In school holidays there is also the opportunity to come along to our mini farm tours.
**Please note that we are also Hipcamp Hosts, with other guests booked in 6 camp sites along our river front (south of The Homestead). Next to The Homestead is the original cottage on one side (where we have family living), and on the other side is our main farm shed. There are some landscaping works that still need to be completed around the farm, however these will not be undertaken during your stay.
