Totally renovated asian art deco villa with original features. Stylish, charming, comfortable. Breakfast with views of the Indian Ocean. Our talented cooks Pushpa and Yasiru can prepare lunch and/or dinner too if you like. No problem at all: you just give some money so staff can go to the shop and afterwards you get receipts and your change. Comfortable mahogany sunbeds. Sound system for Ipod, Iphone and laptop. Wifi. Tv. Hammocks in the garden, for complete relaxation. If you require a soothing massage or a yoga session in the garden: no problem.
Our driver is available for transport from and to the airport, and for any other trips you require. A boat trip on the nearby river, whale watching, snake farm, etc... Lots of restaurants nearby. Our staff can arrange everything for you, they are amazing!

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Golden. We were 2 adults, 3 children so had plenty of space! Susantha & his team were the best hosts. We had a delicious breakfast every morning of fruit, yogurt, smoothies, eggs, omelettes, waffles & hoppers. We also had 2 meals in the villa cooked by the house girls which were delicious, would highly recommend. The garden area is beautiful, right onto the beach. It’s a great location, only a 15 minute tuk tuk into Galle. The restaurants along the beach by the villa are well worth trying out. We highly recommend this villa to anyone staying in this part of Sri Lanka! Thank you for a great stay!

Owner was really helpful and assisted us with organising transport and safari before our arrival to the house.Thanks so much for that! Susantha on site manager was really nice and also helpful. The staff (two lovely ladies)cooked us 2 dinners (which we loved) and prepped a nice breakfasts, although a bigger variety of breakfast choices wasn't communicated to us until the day of our departure. The WiFi wasn't accessible in all parts of the house. The property was big, with direct access to the beach although the beach requires serious cleaning. The house offered security at night included in the price. We were not aware that the staff will be present in the house through out, therefore we didn't feel fully comfortable. We wanted to escape a hotel type arrangement, but didn't know the house will be occupied by others along with us. Perhaps this is an oversight on our part. Overall a lovely place with nice swimming pool right on the edge of the beach. We would recommend to anyone looking for this type of accommodation.

A wonderful Sri-Lankan getaway - Amazing accommodation

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Golden, stayed the whole of in February 2025, hence returning next year (2026). Susantha (House Manager) is a credit to the business, welcoming, professional, very helpful and great with the arrangement of tours and travelling. The staff team were very friendly making us always feel at home. Their attention to detail was very good, attentive but not intrusive. The breakfast and all meals cooked for us were very good and we very much enjoyed the cookery session. Very good standard of cleanliness with the bedrooms being very comfortable. The large pool, access to the beach, the hammocks and the swing seat were all great and made for a great stay. The house, the location and the people of Sri-Lanka made our Sri-Lanka stay feel like home. Would very much recommend this accommodation to friends and family. We arrived as strangers and left as friends.

Amazing Holiday

Wow.... we were blown away when we first arrived at the Villa even though we arrived during a big storm! We stayed over Christmas and New Year with my parents and my teenage boys and we all had a wonderful time. Susantha, Yasiru, Hindy and Bandullah were all fantastic and really helped to make our holiday truly magical. The villa is beautiful and we all had plenty of space to not get on top of each other. The kids enjoyed spending lots of time in the pool and relaxing by the beach on the sun loungers. The food Yasiru and Hindy prepared each day was amazing, fresh and clean everyone enjoyed it. We will definitely be back

Stunning Private Villa Right on the Beach

We loved everything about this house and the marvelous staff. The house is set in a stunning garden with a spotless pool right on the beach at Gintota. The hpuae is beautifully appointed with 4 lovely bedrooms, a lounge, dining room and tv room. The staff were excerional and catered to all our needs. The food they prepared is the best I have eaten in 5 trips to Sri Lanka. We cannot wait to return. Thank you Bart for the use of the house and the service we received from your spectacular people

Our trip to Sri-Lanka

The property was all it is described as in the details. It was tastefully furnished, the bedrooms were lovely, the living areas spacious and the garden beautiful. The property is literally steps from a long, wide, sandy stretch of beach. You could not get any closer. There are plenty of corners to the garden too to provide privacy and shade. The staff who worked at the villa were very sweet, helpful and generous. The provided the most incredible breakfast every morning which was included in the price of the villa - a lovely surprise. I have never seen so much delicious food at breakfast time. It just kept on coming and was full of traditional tastes and surprises. They also prepared a delicious meal one of the evenings which was not included but neither did we expect it to be. The people of the country are kind, generous, warm and good hearted and apart from the beauty of the landscape (we explored quite a bit of the country), the incredible food, it was the people themselves that made the experience. Bart was extremely good at replying promptly to our questions and queries during the booking process and was very helpful throughout the many years of having to postpone our trip because of global issues. Thank you to all for a memorable and extremely interesting experience. I wish Sri-Lanka all the very best for their future as it has been more than hard for them these past years.

Fantastic experience

We stayed as a family in Villa Golden for 12 nights. The house is perfect, on the beach with a private pool. The staff, house manager, chefs and night watchmen were superb. We asked them each day what to prepare for our meals and they were always restaurant quality. The staff will arrange anything for you, including excursions, taxis etc. Anything you need they will arrange for it to be delivered to the house. Would highly recommend this property.

It was such a lovely experience staying at the Villa. Bart was very prompt with his communication prior to us arriving which was very helpful. Susantha and his staff at the villa did an amazing job in looking after us and all our needs. Would visit and stay there again in a heartbeat.

More than just a holiday

This was the second stay at Villa Golden for several of us and, if anything, it was better than our last visit. The villa is in a perfect setting, you step directly from the garden onto the beach, where you can barefoot to a restaurant or sit and watch the fisherman (or even lend a hand hauling in the day's catch). The villa staff are wonderful; warm, funny and helpful in equal measures and the meals are scrumptious. There are lots of adventures to go on but we will miss our short tuk tuk rides in convoy to Galle Fort for a spot of shopping and yet more food. Bliss!

Wonderful place to stay

This was our second stay at Villa Golden. What can I say that hasn’t already been said in other reviews. It’s wonderful. The villa is very comfortable. The gardens are lovely. The pool is a great size. The location is right on the beach. Small bars and restaurants are a few mins walk away. We recommend Happy Hour at Sadun and Bara Beach Home. Galle is a ten minute Tuk Tuk ride away. Uber is also available if you prefer a little more comfort. We ate at the Church Street Social in Fort Bazar Hotel- it’s classy and gorgeous. Arabella is next door but one and offers amazing food and service. The real stars of the show are the wonderful Staff at Villa Golden. You could not wish for more friendly, helpful and welcoming people. Your every whim will be catered for with a smile. Susantha, Pushpa, Yasiru and Milani are great hosts. The food they prepare is delicious and the best we’ve eaten during our stay. Pushpa’s Sri Lankan omelettes for breakfast are a great way to start the day. The curries are amazing. The owner Bart is very helpful. Booking was easy. Messages are responded to very quickly. The only bad thing about Villa Golden is that at some point you will have to leave .....

Beautiful house at the ocean with excellent and friendly staff

We stayed at Villa Golden in July. The house and garden are beautiful. There is no beach in this time of year but you can still lie on the sun loungers by the water. The house is luxurious with very sweet and professional staff. Whatever we wanted to do it was arranged for us. Sri Lanka is beautiful. Due to ther attacks in April this period was extra calm and we are concerned how much the Sri Lankan population suffers from this. As a tourist you only notice a few number of road blocks, nothing annoying.

Holiday Bliss

We arrived late to a lovely prepared meal. Staff were wonderful, friendly and very attentive, catered for our every need - cooking for us, changing up currency, organising transport for trips etc. Villa was lovely, clean, comfy beds and a wonderful location. People of Sri Lanka were most welcoming and people should have no fear with regards to security as army, police prescence was very visible. It's a shame they have to suffer for a few mindless people. We would not hesitate to return in the future.

Paradise on earth!!!!

My husband, my 10 year old son and me stayed ten days at beautiful Villa Golden a few weeks after the horrible attacks in Colombo. At first we thought the situation in Sri Lanka would be a bit dangerous, but that was really not the case. People are so friendly. We had a marvellous holliday. And Villa Golden is FANTASTIC! The staff were so kind and helpfull. The garden and pool were simply superb, we hardly went out because we didn’t need any more than this. Food prepared by Pushpa and Yasiru was yummie. The villa was very comfortable and the balcony is ideal to have an amazing view of the garden and ocean. We loved lounging at the sundeck at the beach. What can I say more... It was pure HEAVEN! Thank you Pushpa, Susantha and the rest of the staff. We will be back next year!!!

Fantastic house and location and beautifully presented... the breakfasts were superb!

This was a difficult time to be in Sri Lanka and my heart goes out to all those affected by the bombings in Colombo and elsewhere... Our impression was of the unfailing friendliness of everyone we met in our travels around the island and it was clear we were a bit unusual in hiring a car and driving ourselves around... the number of smiles and waves we got were uncountable ... the staff at the house were so helpful and friendly and the breakfasts sublime... we also had some lunches and dinners at the house and I’m sure I’ve come back even heavier!... Galle fort has some really good restaurants and we even made friends just by driving there ... after the first time we didn’t need to pay for parking and were greeted as old friends... even on curfew days the army teams manning the checkpoints were helpful and friendly and we were always allowed to proceed... we visited Udawalawe Yala and the rainforest area and although we had to find some creative ways round the roadblocks we had a fantastic time ... even getting stuck in the maruti jeep in Udawalawe and covered in mud trying to get it free whilst the driver gave it all he had was an experience ... we found out that maruti jeeps are only rear wheel drive!... worth it though for the up close and personal encounter with a big bull elephant!... shame he didn’t push us out!...overall I really hope that the current situation in Sri Lanka doesn’t affect tourism as this is a beautiful country with unfailingly beautiful and friendly people and we should not be cowed by the mindless actions of a few extremists who seek notoriety through violence... Surpassed Our Expectations!

We recently stayed at Golden Villa for 5 nights. It felt like a private hotel! The beach was very quiet, and we especially enjoyed 'Happy Hour' at Sadun, a family run restaurant about a 3 minute walk down the beach. However, the food cooked for us at the villa was so delicious that we ate there all except for one evening. We also really enjoyed the massage at the villa, and the yoga. Staff were more than helpful in arranging these activities, as well as drivers (tuk tuks or a van) when we requested. We made a few trips into Galle as it's only about 15 minutes from the villa and enjoyed our lunches at Poonies restaurant. Our 5 year old said, "Its really good, there are really nice people, and good food to eat. But don't get washed away by the waves!"

We arrived in Sri Lanka to find this gem of a property. A beautiful villa, tastefully restored and decorated. We were three families (five adults and five children 7-14) and we really enjoyed our time at villa golden. Pushpa’s cooking was so great, we didn’t want to eat out and the garden / pool were plenty to keep the kids entertained. The villa itself was clean and tidy with a spacious garden and nearby beach bar. The villa backs straight onto the beach at Pitiwella Boossa - it was lovely, but gets very polluted when there is heavy rain (we had one night of rain during our stay but due to the currents, the sea water was not great for about a week). Close to Galle (about 15 mins) and about half an hour to Narigama / Hikkaduwa. There was always a member of staff available to help us plan a trip or provide advice. We hope to visit villa golden again in the future!

An unforgettable experience !

We booked a 6 night stay at Bart's Villa & it was superb! Bart is a very responsive host, replying promptly in spite of a time difference of 7 hours. Our requests were acceded to above expections & this was even before we arriving. Airport pick up was a breeze and check in to the villa was quick. The villa staff appeared cheerful to receive us even at an ungodly hour. The villa is exactly as described ! The view is simply gorgeous. Rooms were very comfortable with ceiling fans as well as airconditioning. The pool is a nice size and we loved chilling out on the hammocks. We enjoyed our interactions with the villa staff. Susantha arranged for excursions to places of interest nearby. Pushpa & Malini prepared tasty Sri Lankan curries for our dinners. Since seafood is in abundance in Sri Lanka, we took advantage of it and had mostly seafood meals cooked for us. Overall, a truly memorable experience and we hope to be back again!

Fantastic villa. The pictures don't do it justice

After renting 8 villas from owners direct over recent years, this is by far the best. Accommodation is of a very high quality and the staff are wonderful, always wanting to help without being overpowering. The pool is lovely and the garden area as fantastic with the beach and the Indian ocean at the bottom. There really is everything that you could wish for. If you want to Sri Lanka then book this villa. 6 of us had a fabulous time and will return
